Week 8: Made it Through Thanksgiving
I made a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. DH made the turkey and stuffing, I made all the trimmings. We had SS13, SS15, my 3 adult bio's and niece. SD35 and her family came for dessert.
I managed to not over stuff my plate or myself. I passed on gravy and rolls, avoided purchasing my favorite pie for dessert. I did have a half of a slice of pumpkin pie and didn't feel stuffed.
I weighed in on Monday and lost 1.1 pounds. I should be happy that I made it through a holiday successfully but I feel bummed. I thought I did really well and felt disappointed it wasn't more.
I have lost 35 pounds so far and my SD35 did notice. My blood pressure is really down there now, 98/63. However the nurse that took it, did it with an automatic machine instead of a manual as they usually do. So that can change the reading.
I guess I'm feeling impatient.

I think that's great for a holiday week. I do understand the impatience, though.
The thing about weight loss is, it's not linear. There is a lot that goes on in the body and the scale does not always reflect that from one week to the next. The important thing is to be making the changes and turning those into habits, so that the weight loss and the health benefits will continue and be permanent.
Thirty-five pounds is awesome!

I think that's amazing!!! Are you doing it all through diet? Or both diet and exercise? I'm trying to make the commitment to get "back on the wagon". I was doing so good, and then I let stress get the better of me. When all our custody stuff blew up with BM, I just started stuffing my face. Now I'm back at square one.
I think 35 pounds is awesome and you are an inspiration.

LOL on the elephant poaching season. You've left me speechless :O
I think losing anything
I think losing anything during a week like Thanksgiving is doing really well. You've lost quite a bit already so the weekly amounts will probably get smaller. 35 pound is awesome. I hope I can get to that number.
Thanks everyone for your
Thanks everyone for your support. I've been going through a really stressful time this week. I've been struggling with it all. I usually eat my way through feelings and this time I'm trying to "walk through" the feelings without numbing myself with food.
I am also an emotional eater
I am also an emotional eater or whatever they call it. That is our challenge. I have been finding a couple of other things to do that I enjoy and made a list of them. I have also starting making a To-Do list. Whenever I am feeling down and would eat in the past, I try to go to the lists and do one of the things on one of the lists. I am finding that I am getting some things done that I have put off and my stress level is getting a little better.

I've been knitting and cleaning a lot to keep my self out of the refrigerator and cabinets!

Ditzy, it's time for us to keep the lotion companies in business. The men have been doing it for way too long.
I did great at first, dropped
I did great at first, dropped two dress sizes. Ive only got one more dress size to go, for trousers, im already there in tops but can I get anywhere? Nope, the flab is not shifting from my ass, hips or thighs no matter what Im doing.
To be fair, recently I haven't done a damn thing but I was swimming, going to the gym (cross fit and treadmill for warm up then hitting the weights, then a dance or whatever virtual class was on so total of 2 hour work out, twice a week) Weight goes off the belly and boobs but not leaving the ass.
My partner claims my ass has gotten smaller but its not smaller enough for the next jeans size down.
So damn frustrating but do try to stick with it lol
