So SS turned 18 this week.  He also just got out of jail two weeks ago for bringing a BB gun, knife, and drugs to school.  He is expelled and lives with my DH's friend.  DH's friend isn't making him get a job, hands him money, and makes excuses for him whenever he gets a chance.  So all you stepparents out there, just know it will not really get better.
