My SO grounded his daughter after disrepctful behavior this weekend. She is entering the lovely tween years and the joys that come along with that are showing their evil ways. Needless to say, SO did the right thing (YAY) with grounding her, cutting their trip short and not letting her go to a bday party. He talked to her a lot over the weekend about her behavior and how she has rules to follow at his home, even though she may not have any her mother's. BM is a manipulative, brainwashing, diagnosed mental case! SO is an attorney and documents everything for court (she takes him back for any little thing), but he is smarter than she is and almost always wins. He emailed BM (that is there only way of communication because she refuses calls or texts). SO have every email saved. He told her nicely that he is concerned about their daughter's behavior and lack of respect and that it is importatnt to take a unified stance regarding this behavior before she hits puberty! BM's response is "I have no idea what you are talking about! She is completely happy here and never disrespectful! SO said that is the answer he knew was coming and he did it intentionally because the courts frown upon a parent not working together for the child. And my SO has MANY emails from her about their daughters behavior. When they go to court again he has proof that she is not working together. He has done this so many times and it has always worked - you would thinkshe would learn! So she will use her punishment that she received to do more brainwashing because she tells him it is her life mission to make their daughter hate him (nice, right?!) Hopefully, SO and SD's talks this weekend will help keep her on a good path - somewhat. Some people should never have children!
