grrrrrr just when things where going really well! The skids have been fantastic ths week, we went out to dinner and we where chatting and laughing. We are getting comfortable now and working eachother out and i was starting to have hope that our bond was starting. DH sat down and had a big open chat and they want to like me and get to know me better (YAY Lol

Trying to connect with Skids and they just are rude

so... its only now that i have really started to become "apart of the family" or at least trying to get some sort of relationship with me skids.

Until now its been more of a Hi and Bye thing and a few questions but not much else, but its been pleasent and im not trying to bounce in and be the new mum in the family and we it slowly building up to more, which was a good pace for everyone.

WOW - Everyone here has just a little to much anger!

i joined onto this group to share feelings and issues with other like minded people who where in my situation.
So far i have received from really helpful and useful advice and i really appreciate this site for helping me. Since i have joined though, this website has just become a huge name calling and very poisonous!

Just putting it out there!

I'm a a young Step Mum, and we have the kids Wednesday nights and EOW... my skids are lovely kids but they are 7SD and 10SS so of course there is a few hick ups but they are normally pretty good.

i don't have any kids of my own so the only experience i have to reflect on is my own up bringing.
but, on school nights the kids still seem to be up at 10.30pm and a fight to get them to bed at 11pm!!.. and they are 7 and 10?

to me when i was younger it was 8.30pm -9pm AT THE LATEST!

Skids coming over ALL the time without warning!! advice

Im still kind of new to the Step World, but my partner and i live up the road from the Skids and BM so we can be close to there school and see them as often as possible..

but his skids have only found out in the past few months (my choice) his dad and i are serious and the kids and i are getting to know eachother etc, SS 10 is starting to get annoyed that if they arent here then im here instead.

DH has always told them they are welcome to come over whenever they like and its there house as well etc..

ohhh something that made me laugh all day!

So BM and DH have been in divorce fights for like 2 years and its finally coming up to all the hard hitting things!

BM is insane for her demands she is asking and is trying to make DH still pay mortgage for her property to live in rent free for the next 5 years (kids are with him 40% of the time)!! that he has to pay all private school fees and that he pay for all children activities...etc and the list goes on and on! (she isnt willing to pay a cent)

my SS 10 is really big for his age, and he is a very healthy kid and play sport 3 days a week but the rest of the time he is running around and active, he isn't allowed to play video games and watch movies all day etc. my DH was a STICK as a kid and he is very healthy now, but on BM side all the boys are stocky

after meeting his friends at basketball is only hit me how fat he was actually getting. DH and BM have spoken about the issue before and have agreed to try and watch what he eats

i feel like a bad Step Mum now!

Reading everyones post and how involved everyone gets in there skids lives i feel sort of bad now!

im alot younger then my DH and don't have any bio-kids of my own (maybe one day! and he isnt fussed either way) and there is a SD 7 and SS 10, and they come around everyone 2nd weekend and 1 night during the week, and i'm getting to build a relationship/friendship with them... but to be honest i don't think i lost myself when this all started.
