Snowed In

I'm snowed in with DH and SD. SD came home at 4 yesterday and has left her room three times. Each time because DH didn't answer her text or call when she wanted something. She gets off work early DH can barely get her because the roads are so bad. Two hours later she is asking can I go get something to eat. DH says no we barely made it home no one is leaving tonight unless it's an emergency.

Two hours and two more inches of snow later, can me and my friends go see a movie tomorrow afternoon? We can't work because the roads are too bad but you think we should get out to take you to the movies?

Meanwhile my bd is sitting in her dorm waiting for classes to resume and bs is stranded two states away with the men's basketball team at his school.

Of course sd wouldn't know this since she has never taken even one minute to get to know them and has only talked to bd when she wants a ride.

"Well, SD, here's a pair of mittens and a hat, have fun walking to the movies!"

What is WITH these children who think that we exist to cart their happy asses around no matter the weather/time?

It blows my mind. The same kids who will tell me she can't do the dishes or help around the house in any meaningful way will complain that she's stuck here. Hello, we got a foot of snow and the wind chill is 30 below. We're all stuck. If you ever helped without throwing a fit I might be more inclined to do something for her. DH was pretty clear when she asked to go out the first time. I can't believe she would even ask a second time.
