trying hard to keep the peace
SS14 was here over night, he really has a hard time being bothered with showing at all, and I am beginning to have the same feeling about being bothered with him coming - well let me rephrase, with having to accommodate him at all in my life.
He came in I said Hi SS........I get a yeah.
Then nothing the rest of the night. Until DH gave him the socks I bought him (they were 50% off when I bought something for DD11) They were there and I thought hmm..that is a brand that SS likes.
Anyway, he barely talked to anyone again.

So the saying goes I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy
But if BM was your worst enemy would you?
In the 14 years that DH has been diVorced- BM has had several BF, one live in and a marriage that lasted a total (including dating) of about 18 months. She was blessd with two stepkids and her DD and SD did their best and destroyed the marriage- I'm sure there were other issues but I know that those two were a handfull.
Now 2 yrs after her divorce BM is dating someone with a toddler.
I enjoyed the summer
I enjoyed the lack of stress that having extended visits cause. I enjoyed a lower food consumption bill. I enjoyed being able to walk out in the morning in my towel to the laundry room for my work clothes.
I also missed that they are not a part of our family. I find it sad that they do not want what we have to offer.

why do i do this
So I am having a problem wrapping my head around why I keep extending the olive branch.
Sent a txt to SS asking for decal info that his activity might sell- not even a response. And I really don't know would have been better than nothin.
Sent Sd. A text asking about when she was getting her wisdom teeth out since we were trying to arrange dinner. Nothing

Someone posted about the anxiety level of dealing with BM
Have you ever noticed when they are quiet too long that the anxiety starts up again. It's been to long since we've had an email or communication of any kind- and my anxiety creeps back in.
what a wonderful weekend
I'm trying not to be overly excited, but we had a really good weekend with SD19. She called Saturday to say that they were in our area and wanted to know if they could swing over. So over she and BF came. They wound up and went to the local fair with us that evening. She has a new job and has to buy some clothes so I gave her some money from my slush fund and % off coupons to help. She was extremely appreciative, DH then treated her and BF to the evening at the fair from his slush fund.

O/T - from a SKids point of view
This summer marks two years on the loss of my step dad. This weekend marks the 2 year of finding out about his cancer- we went to the cemetery with flowers and tears this weekend, and the hole that he left behind is still there and amazingly how raw the emotions still are.
I wanted to share, since I am from a blended family here is a touch of my background:
Parents divorced when I was 7, 2 siblings and I'm the only girl sandwiched in the middle.
