I knew things were too quiet for too long

And one email explodes the silence......

How do you explain to BM that the kid is 20 wants to live with the SO that leads to emancipation. It does not mean that DH still has a responsibility to support sk. It does not mean that we are to support the relationship financially. What it means is that SK will have to face the adult decisions like the rest of us- can't afford it don't get it! It does not mean that DH should send extra money. It doesn't mean that we pay for any portion of the bills. It is not my fault that the kid does not have any sense about money and making hard choices.

In my Opinions Child Support ends when you no longer have a 'child' (0-18 is a child) - it's not called Adult Support.

If all kids are over 18 BLOCK THEIR BM! No reason to have any contact at all. If there is any kind of event or whatever the kid can call daddy!

I agree the 'kid' needs to pay their own bills!

Once a child is out of HS support ends, unless they attend college, which in my opinion a kid still need some help. But after HS, even in college the kid should have a job and support themselves as much as possible while still being able to do their schooling.
