Yesterday went SO well! I talked to DH a few days ago about SS7 helping me sort the baby's diapers. He said I was welcome to do whatever I wanted.

Yesterday we had a huge load of diapers that needed sorting and putting away. I asked SS7 to help me and I said that every time he helps me do the diapers I'd give him 50 cents. He actually did a good job, sorting everything then putting it away. I had to show him where, but I didn't touch a bit of it.

While he was sorting I took a small mason jar and covered it with a cloth and cut a slit in the cloth for coins. I gave him his new bank and the 50 cents, and he put it in. He was distracted by a computer game at that time, so I put his bank near his computer and that was that. The whole process took less than 10 minutes. I figure I do diapers 3 or 4 times a week, so when we go to the grocery store on Sundays he'll have a dollar or two to spend on a candy bar or some trinket.

I thought the money wasn't a big deal to him because he didn't seem to have much of a reaction. But when DH dropped him off to BM in the evening she asked "What did you do today?" and SS7 replied "Siferra gave me money and I put it in a bank!!" BM looked confused and DH explained.

I love that it made a big enough impact that SS7 would tell BM about it - he's not a very verbal kid so his actually talking about an event means it was a pretty big deal.
