What is the difference between a restraining order and a no-contact order?
Anyone know what the rules/regulations are of either of these? Think we may have to go one of these routes with BM and I'm not completely clear on them...

A no-contact order is
A no-contact order is something that is usually a stipulation of someones bond or bail if they are being charged with a violent crime against someone else. It means that person can have no contact with the victim of the crime for the length of the trial.
The difference with a restraining order is that there does not need to be any criminal case pending, a restraining order can be requested at any time.
No contact is criminal and restraining or is civil court.
They both have the same stipulations though, basically no direct or indirect contact whatsoever.
We had a no contact order
We had a no contact order (unless emergency) put into the parenting agreement with our BM as she was in the habit of calling and screaming at us.
I am thinking that a restraining order is different as it involves fear of a physical threat to yourself, I believe.
