BM Likes to Complicate
I apologize in advance if this is complicated to explain. Try to bare with me... So BM lives in a neighboring state 4 hours directly south of us. DH and I live on the Eastside of our state, while BM's family and hometown are on the Westside of our state. If BM wants to visit her family, it is a 6.5 hour drive from her home and a 2.5 hour drive from our home. Essentially, for BM to pick SS up from us, BM would have to drive 4 hours straight north to us and if she wanted to see her parents after pickup, BM would have to drive 2.5 hours straight west from our house, making a giant upside down "L." BM notified DH on Friday that BM's brother, who lives in BM's hometown, will be picking SS up from us on Sunday late afternoon. I figured BM's brother was taking SS back to BM's house and brother was likely going to visit them in their state for a few days.
So SS9 talked to BM and GF tonight. They interrogated him about for about 20 minutes. We could hear them talking to SS in his room, wanting to know everything we have been doing this week. After the phone call, SS comes and talks to us. He tells us that BM and GF will be coming to BM's hometown to visit family on Friday and they will be staying the weekend. SS needs to be picked up from our house on Sunday late afternoon. A normal person would think that BM and GF would just pick SS up on their way home, right? You know since our home is on their way home. WRONG. Instead of BM actually stepping up and being a parent, BM is forcing her brother to drive 2.5 hours across the state to our home to pick up SS... Wait for it... and then expecting brother to turn right around and drive 2.5 hours back across the state to BM's family's house... WHERE BROTHER CAME FROM. All while BM and GF are sitting on their asses at the BM's family's house instead of picking SS up.
I told SS, "Well cool, then you'll get to see your uncle and grandparents for Easter and maybe enjoy a few days with them." SS goes, "No, we [BM, GF, and SS] are leaving to go back home Sunday night." SO ESSENTIALLY, BM'S BROTHER IS DRIVING 2.5 HOUR EAST, PICKING SS UP, THEN DRIVING 2.5 HOURS WEST TO HAVE BM TURN RIGHT AROUND A FEW HOURS LATER AND DRIVE SS 6.5 HOURS SOUTH TO GO BACK HOME. So SS will spend 9 hours in a car on Easter Sunday because BM is too lazy to just pick SS up and likes to make things complicated... I don't get it.
