BM - a torn in my side
BM & I dont get along, we've never even spoke, mainly due to her. She didnt want her marriage to end. DH was miserable and left her, went back tried to make it work and then left for good. Met me shortly after and BM thought we had an affair. Meanwhile, I didnt even know DH till he left her. So she blames their failed marriage on me. I've tried rentlentlessly to tell her I didnt know him then but whatever, its not worth it to me anymore.
Anyway, BM is total trash. She lost the house, her car, is behind on all her bills and she makes good $$ and gets CS!! Well, DH car is in her name and his name STILL due to their divorce agreement. Once its paid off in another yr, then it transfers solely to DH name. In our state the parent who stays in the "home" gets to stay there 3 yrs with both names of the house but as you can see she lost that, so he only agreed when he could keep the truck in the both names. Since BM never paid bills, DH credit got ruined!! So the registration is about to renew and DH gets a letter saying we cant renew till a citation is taken care of.
DH is freaking out b/c he knows its nothing in his name and calls to see what the issue is. She has some penalty for not carrying car insurance and hasnt made a pymt on it and its a year old!! WTF! So we cant renew the tags until she clears this up (which is by the end of May) and she told him its on her "list of things to do". I seriously want to punch in the face!! We pay our bills on time and struggle b/c he pays her stupid ass every month.
If she doesnt pay this, then his car has to sit b/c he cant drive around on expired tags!! And I have a sports car so its not doable, NOR should we even be put in this situation. BM wonders why I cant stand her....if she'd act like an adult and be responible, then I could respect her. But she is TRASH!!!

This car thing happened to
This car thing happened to me in my divorce. We had a Jeep that that was in both of our names. When I moved out, I called to see if I could take my name off of it. Since we'd just gotten it and qualified for the loan only because both of our names were on it, they wouldn't take me off. Went to renew registration on my vehicle the following year and discovered ex hadn't paid property taxes on the Jeep, so I couldn't renew my registration until they were paid. I ended up paying them. Few weeks later I got a notice from DMV stating he had no insurance coverage on the Jeep and my license would be suspended until it was taken care of, so I ended up having to pay his insurance on the Jeep for the next 3 years, until it was paid off.

Her face will meet the concrete before I pay a dime for her crap! DH credit is already ruined. I will dump that car off in front of her house right then and there and let her deal with it!
If it had just been about
If it had just been about credit, I wouldn't have done it, as mine was shot by that point as well. I had no choice but to pay so I could keep MY drivers license and MY vehicle because MY name was tied to it. From that point, everything with MY name on it, is in MY name alone. I guess I chalk it up to lessons learned. It was a sucky lesson, but it'll never happen again.

No I understand...I'm just angry right now!! I would've done the same thing if it came to my driver license and all that. I'm just so annoyed that her crap affects us!
