SD19 moved out recently because she quit college and we were going to charge her rent. She is now living with her BF's mom and dad. She made sure to mention to DH that she would be stopping by on her birthday (hmm wonder why). So, she stopped by to see me on Friday night (DH was at work), I gave her a big hearty Happy Birthday and then followed up with "sorry I didn't get a chance to get you a gift but we were so busy over Thanksgiving", so she left to visit DH at his job. He told me later he did the same thing, I big hearty Happy Birthday, sorry no gift, too busy. Figured that was the end of that. But nope, we got junk mail in her name on Saturday, DH takes a photo of junk mail and texts it to SD, assuming she is going to tell him to throw it out. Nope, she responds that she will stop over after 9:00 p.m. on Saturday evening to pick it up. I thought to myself, hmm why would she come the whole way over here for a piece of junk mail....light bulb goes off.......she probably figures we had time to get her a birthday gift today. Chuckled to myself, but didn't share my thoughts with DH. I was upstairs when she stopped by, DH said he didn't even invite her in, handed her the junk mail and off she went. He then comes upstairs and tells me "You know, I think SD stopped by thinking we have time to get her a gift today"......BINGO DH, that is exactly why she stopped by. Funny, SD19 must think we are idiots. She wants nothing to do with us except for her birthday. Sorry sweetie, I wish I could think the best of you but you've proved me wrong too many times.
