Weird got a message from Collection Agency for BM

BM and DH have been divorced for 15 years. BM is now remarried but we got a message from a collection agency looking for a reference for BM! How can that be! She does not have our home phone number. I have no clue how collection agencies work.

Does anyone know why or how we could have gotten a call? I told the guy we have NOTHING to do her and they have been divorced for over 15 years. He just said he would take our number out of the file.

i get collection calls for my ex as well as dh. both of us have been divorced for over 8 years. they skip trace through the computer...im about to freak you out. go to Spokeo.com and search some names you may be surprised what you find

And you have to KEEP getting it removed, for some weird reason. It's NOT just a one-time thing.

I got a collection call from an agency tryign to track down the brother of a guy I dated for a few months when I was 19.

The ex-BF and I had a cell phone plan together with both of our names on it, so when the agency started digging around, they found me through his brother .. and my phone number (which has never changed).

Some of the agencies are very diligent .. I wouldn't be TOO concerned. They know ex-spouses are probably more likely to give up the dirt than family members Wink
