Potential Reasons for Request
Forums:
This doesn't really have to do with family court, but in case that is what it's leading to, I'd like to mentally prepare myself.
Can anyone think of a reason for a noncustodial parent to request a tax return from when they were still married? When asked why it was needed, the question was dodged. Perhaps the need of it is for personal issues, which I don't care about, but if it has to do with not wanting to pay CS, or a potential custody battle, I'd like to be prepared...
That is information I never
That is information I never gave to the EX. If it was not a matter of public record, then it is none of the other persons business. So, in my opinion, they could be looking at tax fraud, lost tax return, etc. But that information has vital records on it, and if they are asking you for it, then they are not on it. DO NOT GIVE A COPY TO ANYONE. The only people that need it is the courts. and the court will ask
They filed jointly, but DH
They filed jointly, but DH was the primary signer so he's the only one who can request a copy. The ex is requesting a return from 2010. If she's having financial issues, it's none of my concern, but I worry she's trying to pull some financial stunt that'll hurt DH somehow.
