So SS5 has this charming habit of fake crying whenever he doesn't get his way. About ANYTHING. Being asked to clean his teeth, being told we'll go to the park later not now, being asked to finish his dinner or tidy up. Anything.

And it is dreadful, it drills right through your brain.

This started pretty much around the time when BM got knocked up again. I'm thinking it's some sort of reaction to not being the baby anymore. She hasn't had the baby yet so do you think this will get better or worse when she does?

And what can we do to stop him doing it?!?!

When he starts give him a figurative kick in the butt. If its toothpaste time take his arm and lead him to the bathroom. If its at the table send him to his room until he says he's ready to eat.
Don't allow it to continue in front of the family - its always hidden away so there is no audience.
Sure its the new baby AND someone may be reinforcing. He'll learn if its OK at your house or not so stick with the plan.
