Snarfing Zippy
I have a petty annoyance that I am at my wit's end with. Zippy16.5 crawls out of bed after DH wakes him up at 7:45AM (mind you he has to be out the door for the bus at 8:00AM)-first thing he does coming down the stairs is sneeze then the whole 15 minutes while I am reading the paper Zippy sniffles-loudly-. I have asked him to please blow his nose rather than horking and sniffling like an old man (he is too lazy to blow his nose)as it is unpleasant to hear a snotty nose sniffling while having breakfast.
Zippy just ignores me and goes right on sniffling-DH is merrily drinking his tea and reading the paper-la la la la la -
Any ideas on how to get Zippy to stop ignoring me blow his nose?

It is called
basic manners. I was taught that any noises from the body, should be done in private and that includes ALL noises from any part of the body!!!! It is called teaching kids manners, class, etiquette---and a loving mother made sure her kids knew these things
but if YOU say something (the evil stepmother), you are being mean. Who suffers in the end? The kid----because he has no manners and "class" or lack thereof, SHOWS.
My SD makes this snarfling noise every day, a million
times a day, followed with constant snorting. Ugh. I feel your pain.

Good Grief
Droopy would drive me bananas-I guess a little snarfling in the morning is nothing compared to Droopy's noises!!!

How about a 23 year old woman
who thinks belching as loud as you can is an attractive and socially acceptable trait.
attractive
BM apparently can belch th alphabet. I guess the kids think its amusing.
What a lady!
Toooooooooo freaking funny!! Gross, but funny

Only if
it is not in public or around mutual company. Let's face it, most of us with younger step sons know that they think it is very funny to pass wind of any kind. So sometimes I will burp as loud as I can (at home mind you) and blame it on my SS 6 he cracks up and the blame gets passed to everyone. But my BF does this as well but they do know the difference of not in public only at home being stupid.
Good whack
I feel for ya!
My SS was/is a snarfer. Drove me insane. One day while we were sitting side by side I witnessed him wiping his nose on his sleeve. This was a short sleeve shirt so the action was very obvious. I whacked him (gently and teasingly and in front of DH) and said "OH! Please go get a Kleeneeeeeeeeeeeeex"
He left after the EOWE visit and sent DH an email. It went something like this. "Wiping my nose on my sleeve is a habit. It's not my fault. I am never coming back to your house. Wicked is abuse and mean to me and the girls. You never take our side, blah, blah, drivel, drivel, sniffel, sniffel...."
He did not come back for weeks. DH talked to him and explained that Wicked is not mean. I know everything she does or says to you guys and wiping your nose on your sleeve is unaccepatble. The snarfer and his wet sleeve returned. Lucky me!

Thanks. It was slightly peaceful without him for a while. Like a mini vacation.
I guess I am supposed to be happy he didn't send us to the poor house buying tissue or something.
How to get Zippy to stop being rude
by sniffling and snarfing and disturbing your breakfast?
Spit in his cheerios.
from someone who has allergies
year round, there are many times that blowing my nose constantly does not do the job 100%. I take claritin-D every day per doctor cause without it I'll end up with an ear infection. I've tried the nasal sprays for allergies but they make me gag.
My H snarfs alot too and it drives me nuts but I don't think it's worth getting into a knock down, drag out fight over it.
And hey, with 5 brothers, I've heard it all. Usually now when I hear little boys make those noises I'll say 'did you hear that tree frog?' They crack up!
