OT- Other Step Family Forums
StepTalk is the first stepparent forum that I have actively become involved in. And dont get me wrong, I love this site, Im just curious.
I have noticed that there are a few other forums out there. I have browsed one or two and looked through a list I found printed in the back of a book I just finished reading. Have any of you been on any of the other sites? Is there a big difference between sites? And if you have been on those sites, which ones are you most active in? If StepTalk, why have you chosen this site over others?
Im just curious to know the pros and cons of the sites and figured I could get the best answers here. I appreciate any and all answers to my above questions.

Ive browsed through www.stepsforstepmothers.com Another one I have seen is www.secondwivesclub.com And I believe there is also one through Yahoo. I dont have the book on hand to list the ones I have seen in there. I love Steptalk, I was just wondering if there were other good ones out there and if anyone had experience with any of them.

So far I haven't seen an others that are actually for venting, or any that are very user friendly. So I don't know of any other good ones. I like how this one is set up though & I like that its for venting the most.

User Friendly
I havent found any of the others user friendly. I am not concerned as to whether or not a site is for venting, as I need a place I can simply turn to for advice. A third party opinion without the high price tag. Then again, I guess in telling the story to get the advice, could come across as venting couldnt it?

I tried to look through that site, but you have to sign up just to browse. Thats one reason I decided to join this site. I was able to browse through to get an idea of what the site would really be like, what the people here were like, before I decided to join.

I signed up, just answered a few questions & they send you an email to confirm. It seems to have the same type of stuff, people, language, etc...but not as active. It has like 230 members total. I don't know how many are active out of that number but there isn't a whole tone of posts, just a few a day.

It is similar to Step Talk with messages from people and responses, I used to go there quite often but I like the format of this site, with the blog entries. It seems more responsive.

www.StepChicks.com it is more of a blog interface. Is user friendly. Smaller and more intimate. I guess a MySpace for Step Moms (oh the horror we attention whores - lol). I just set up my account there as you can blog and it is more private, but it would depend on what you are looking for.
Anyone can take the easy way out and blame others. BUT it takes a a person of character to take a look at one's self and actions and own responsibility for their part. ~ ME ~ }:-P
