Petition to modify custody will be served to BM on Monday
BM and BF are going to court over her suing him for more CS on Monday. At that time, BF's lawyer will be serving her with the petition to modify custody. He's asking for 80/20 custody with BM doing the driving. They're also asking that a GAL be appointed for SS who will be doing a home visit to BM's to see the condition of the environment there. They're trying to stipulate that BM must have a job and that the house must be cleaned up and suitable before SS can move back in.
My assumption is that this will go back to mediation and it'll be a long drawn out process. But at least it's getting started!

It is sadly a long process
It is sadly a long process even though it all really is simple- what's best for SS is being in a clean, stable home with you!
The first step is the hardest, congrats and I hope all goes well!

I'm kind of glad that her phones and internet have been turned off...so as to minimize the amount of harrassment we're sure to get after she's served. I know she thinks that we're trying to take her son away but we're not. He needs to live in a place where he can be taken care of and provided for. She cannot do that right now.
I have this fear that someone will finally get into her home to inspect it, but she will have known it was coming and have gotten it clean. Then the past four years of us trying to get someone in there will have just made us look spiteful. Though I know the big picture is that if it does get clean, that's great because that's more benefit to SS. I just would feel so stupid if they gave her all this advance notice and she fixed it up before they got there.

Oh trust me if your BM is
Oh trust me if your BM is like ours it is yrs later and on planet BM we still only wanted custody to get to her, we did it to hurt BM- yea she gives herself too much importance in our lives.
I would express my concerns at the school so they are more aware of SS having this in his life and may be more likely to notice and take note of things such as SS having issues in school related to his hygene or organization.
I don't know what to say for the inspection thing, but SS does deserve to be with you andhave the stability, unfortunately BMs and alot of people don't put the kids first but prefer to drag them through the mud alongside the parent instead of trying to keep them from having to do it.
Still in my prayers and thoughts.

Our BM was served her petition to modify custody on July 15th to a 50/50 Friday to Friday schedule. She has until Aug 16th to respond...wow that is this Saturday! I know we are in for a big battle and lots of lies from her side. We have the daily record of all things happening good and bad. Keep us posted on how it all goes. I will also keep you posted on anything in our case that may be helpful to you!

It went great! We got some great photos of her. The funny thing is that she doesn't look a thing like me except her lips. Other than that she looks JUST like SS! I hope she looks at least a little like me when she comes out or as she gets older
