More strange turns in my epic drama
So for those of you who know my story, you'll find these things just as strange as BF and I do. Last weekend, BF got SS on Thursday night to stay for Easter - extra time that BM gave him which was not in the parenting plan. That alone was interesting enough. Well, BF was so busy Thursday that he couldn't leave to get SS, so he asked her if I could go get him. She said OK! She'd meet me at the end of her road. So I went and picked up SS, and she loaded him into our car and made smalltalk with me about SS. She said congratulations on the baby and she hopes everything goes well. I drove SS home and watched out the rear-view mirror just waiting to see her speeding up behind us, but she never did.
She's also invited us out to a Spring Fling at SS's school. She told BF that he could come out and could bring me if I wanted to come.
I'm still very leery but glad that things have taken a turn for the better. I just hope it stays this way.

In a word: yes.
It's surreal. Civility. Out of a woman who for 4 years all I've gotten was hate, lies, bluffs, backstabbing, court costs, stalking, pain and tears...it's just so weird.

My DH always says how hard it must be for BM to just be so angry all the time. Maybe your BM got tired of being angry all the time.

That would be a shocker. She's been angry for the past 14 years that BF's known her. But now all of a sudden we can all have a civil conversation and she doesn't turn into a screeching, cussing, threatening demon lady.

or diagnosed with some other mood defining pysch disorder?
Maybe she was put on meds? My skids' BM off her meds morphs into a viscious beast that foams at the mouth....literally. Kinda like Cujo.

I have had my suspicions.
As far as I know, she's not been diagnosed with anything - probably due to her extensive background in psychology. But I have had my suspicions on her mental health. She was taking antidepressants a while back, because she told me about it. I don't know if she still is or not.

It would be hard for me to let my guard down if this were SD's BM. I would be watching for the hired hit to show up at my door!

I'll bet
She either wants something, has found someone or she is about to drop a bigger bomb. I don't want to burst the bubble or sound mean or negative but in my life I have learned that people don't change. They can modify their behaviour for a while but eventually they will go back to who they were.
Now before ya'll go pouncing on me
I mean the spirit of person you are deep down in your making. A drug addict can recover sometimes but I am sure the ones who do recover were good people before the drugs who hit a hard road...I hope I'm wrong, but it sounds awful strange and for SS I hope I am wrong because god knows if our BM could have a reasonable bone in her body, SS would have a better life both here and there!
