I have two (bio)kids who grew up in daycare and now they rarely get sick. They were always sick when they were younger...ear infections, pink eye, flu, croup, even pneumonia. Now for DH...before the divorce, BM was a stay at home mom and it seems like his kids are forever getting sick. They never had the exposure until reguar school.

So maybe for your daughter, boost her vitamin C intake and see the silver lining that she just might grow up with an incredible immune system. Smile

Hi CG, you're right about that. I know that's why my older daughter never gets sick, because was she was a baby in daycare she was always sick as well. I know it comes with the territory. My biggest problem is parents who's kids are really ill, and they bring them in anyways. I just dont get that. If my child is noticably sick, and i'm talking sick, not a cold, then I keep her home so that everyone else doesnt have to suffer.

it's either I stay home with my sick child, or tomorrow, all the parents stay home sick with their kids because my kid got them sick. You know? I just think that its inconsiderate. Maybe I'm overreacting to the situation, but seems to me that there is always a child in there that looks like he/she should be at home resting, taking meds, not coughing and red from fever and leaking from every hole in their tiny little head.

Then again in all honestly my little girl is more like a linebacker, and always has new bumps and bruises, so she may have just poked or scratched her own eye, but if its something that requires medication; FOOEY ON THE DAYCARE PARENTS! lol

Know how they say nurse your child for stronger immune system? Well the child I nursed for a year has very weak immune system, will soon be 13 and just missed 4 days of school with his asthma, anyway I am nice ,let older son's friend stay her the weekend while parents ski and turns out he is sick. I telll my friends over and over to please keep their kids away if they have any symptoms of being ill, but they say, oh just a little fever, or cold later when it has turned into 104 for my son or another week out of shcool, they don't get it. On top of this my father is gravely ill and we cannot be around him while ill, he already receives antibiotic treatmenst at hospital 3X a week , well if we are sick we can not viist with him and we want this time with him. I am ticked off that this has been introduced into my home due to me trying to do a good deed!

you nailed my point. It's inconsiderate people. That's what it boils down to. Only thinking of themselves and not the people that suffer due to their lack of concern for others.
