Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda
I hate the word "should." Because it seems to be my DH's favorite word in regards to his children.
"Well, yeah, they probably SHOULD do their homework as soon as they get home from school."
"Yeah, they probably SHOULD go to bed earlier than 11:00 pm."
"You are right, they SHOULD do some chores around here."
"The kids SHOULD eat what is made for dinner and they SHOULD eat all of it instead of always wasting the majority of their meal."
"They SHOULD be able to get up for school on their own in the morning at almost 13 and 15."
"They SHOULD be packing their own lunches and making their own breakfasts, but I like to do it for them."
"They SHOULD get up in enough time in the morning so that every day isn't a mad rush of screaming and chaos."
"They SHOULD speak to adults with respect, and say please and thank you."
"SS SHOULD acknowledge you when you say hello, but he does it to me too, so its really okay."
"Yeah, they SHOULD appreciate all that has been done for them and that they no longer live with neglectful BM."
You know what DH? I SHOULD knock you upside the head every time I hear you say the word "SHOULD." Because you NEVER turn the SHOULD into WILL.
And you should leave some
And you should leave some day.
"I woulda actually parented
"I woulda actually parented my kid, I shoulda, but I coulda lost them forever when they got mad at me for saying no!"
What BS. My kid is a COD. Guess what? I patented him and he's still here!
HAHAHAHAHAHA that sounds all
HAHAHAHAHAHA that sounds all too familiar! I can laugh as it's nice to know that I am not the only one going through this. But I understand your frustration totally! Sounds like our home!
