Kill them with kindness????

I have an 11 y/o SD that is of course hormonal at times....but beside that..the selective hearing is really getting on my nerves....and when I ask her to do something she just ignores it and then when her father asks her to do something, she just blows up in this big drama queen fit! I am trying not to let her get under my skin, push my buttons, or make me angry.....so should i just kill her with kindness?...For the record...I have been known to get angry and fly off the handle from time to time and I have been working on changing that. I tried to be more polite with her this evening but all she did was get more angry with me....but I did feel proud of myself by keeping my cool Biggrin

You can try, I hope it works. I tried with my Ed13, I've tried everything. She still has those same issues. It's to the point she won't even speak to me unless someone else is around. But try, you can always change tactics and have that you tried in your arsenal when she gets snotty ("I tried to be nice, but you refuse to hear me..."). Good luck,
