Childsupport Adjustments?

My fiance is paying a hefty amount for child support which seems a bit too much for his income level. But will they adjust the amount if he has more dependents to take care of does anyone know? I live in Ontario. Because since his price was given we're had another child, and have another on the way. It;s just a piss off when the BM tells us all the time she never even uses the money! Nothing angers me more!!!

You're not married, correct?
You can file for CS then. And you should. It could help you get on your feet.
Then, if she/he files for an adjustment, all existing CS orders should be counted. (I'm not as familiar with Canadian law. But don't you get some freebie money for having kids there?)

OP, are you trying to get CS for your kids? Or are you trying to get the amount SD's mom receives lowered so that DF will have more money for your household?

Why are you angry that BM isn't using the money? Maybe she doesn't "need" it now so instead of spending it, she's saving if for when daughter gets older. (college) If so, that is a smart thing to do.

Yup you get government assistance according to your income level. When I was single I was getting almost 400.00 for my son alone but now with my fiance I get 193.00 for my 2 children. Now sure how it would adjust if I was to leave but I'm sure I could find out somewhere. But i will look into it, I never thought of it at all so thanks.

In my state, it doesn't matter how many kids you have after the first CS filing. Every child will continually get lower % amounts while the first stays unaffected.
Ex. BM#1 $600/mo for 2kids
BM#2 $175/mo for 1kid

Why? Because they factor in that Dad is already paying out $600/mo in CS and it reduces his net income. They DO NOT do an entire recalculation for ALL kids because the first 2 kids were already there when Dad decided to have one more. He was well aware of his first obligation before adding another dependent.

This is in my state. I do not know what it is like in your state but bum rap for 2nd families. Sad

It's different in our state apparently. We live in PA and BM would have gotten $488 for step brat, but bc of DS she only gets $375. On the worksheet we got it showed they alotted $388 for DS, and $375 for SD, so our son, even tho he is younger is given more.

Yes, in my state MN- they do calculate dependant children living in his own. Limit is 2 i believe though. They give an adjustment for this. We are pregnant and plan on going for adjustment when this one arrives. Oh how pissed she will be. Oh well.
