SD's Birthday

So last night while having dinner DF asked me what we were doing for SD's birthday ? I said I had nothing planned maybe just he and I take her to dinner, I then get what about the rest of the family ? Me what about them ? Well we always invite them told him I've already spoken to them and they agree that the way she's been acting that we should do nothing big. This past Friday she just now gave us our gifts (my mother's day and his father's day). His answer was then maybe we can have just a cookout here at home, me sounds like a great idea. And no off the wall expensive cake either me and Duncan Hines can get together for cupcakes lololol

When FDH asks me about skids birthday my reply will be to do what you want to do. I don't care..period end of story. If he wants to throw a bday party then he needs to book the facility, invite people and get a cake. I will show up with a gift. If he wants to have a small dinner with grandparents I will help cook the dinner. I am not about to waste my time and energy on kids that get 5 or 6 birthday celebrations anyway between FDH and BM 's families.

So know where both of you are coming from. As for me being the one planning the bd party I have to admit that I do have control issues when get togethers are taking place at our home. I've tried to let go but nope I get a lil nuts. And have I/we had our share of "I don't like the gifts you get me" while moving we found 2 dresser draws in her bedroom that was packed with Chritmas Presents that she never used took home or anything just put them in there then later (on her blog) it was she hates what we get her for Christmas. I wanted to put everything where the sun don't shine Smile And if my SD came in our home and messed up my kitchen she better hope she can get to the moon cause I'm coming after her.

My SD's bday is next week. My DH asks me if we are doing anything for her. I said "Well, I ordered her the Ipod Nano she wanted and we can take her to Red Lobster for dinner." He simply said "Sounds good to me." I was a little surprised that BM hadn't called with her usual "It's your babies birthday what are your plans?" Although, we are still a week away and the phone call can come any day now. She's going to be 11, no more big parties until it's time for her Sweet 16. Which I already started preparing my DH mentally for. God only knows what that's gonna be like! Uuugghhh....
