Is it okay to pick Skids rooms?
Forums:
Hello All,
Dh and I are in the process of buying a house. Now there are 2 bedrooms on the 2nd fl and 2 bdrooms on the 1st. I will chose a bedroom on the 2 fl and want Skids to have a bedroom on the 1st floor. I plan on using the 2nd bedroom on the 2nd floor for when we have a baby. am I wrong?
Not at all... you don't want
Not at all... you don't want to have a new baby downstairs while you are upstairs... Either way, you and DH are the adults, if you choose to decide who get which room, then so be it... they will have to deal and get over it.

You aren't wrong at all.
You aren't wrong at all. Kids don't pay the mortgage, you do. You call the shots in your house. When they buy one, they can call the shots in theirs.
You are not wrong at all.
You are not wrong at all. And you better hurry up and pick those rooms before Skids think they need the master bedroom. We have looked at houses in the past and SS always thinks he should get thel argest room (for what him and his big ego?) but when i chime in and say that the largest room will be the master bedroom he always get so pissy with me and resentful because I GET THE LARGEST ROOM IN THE HOUSE...DH also get mad at me because I pick the room furthest away from everyone else for SS , its not to push him away it is to provide everyone else inlcuding SS's twin sister some peace... and it has to have a door so we can shut it when we dont want to see him pout or hear him yell...
I wanted to also say that
I wanted to also say that when we bought our house 10 years ago, I did not have my future babies on the brain well enough. I had no idea that my SKIDS would be so horrible at sharing, at that time they still liked me and were cute little 5 year olds who needed some TLC...now they have otugrown cute and are 15 year olds who need some discipline and I don't know bible school to make them kinder people. Our 3 bedroom house does not suit our family because SS does not share, and SD has a walkthrough room that has no privacy for a teenager. And then my boys 2 and 5 no longer fit in the tiny nursery that is literally a trasformed closet, so they have no bedroom to call their own. SO YES DO PLAN FOR YOUR BABIES IN THE FUTURE WHEN YOU BUY A HOME!!! I didn't think it well enough through and our once perfect house is anything but, and due to the economy and our decline in income we are stuck here for awhile having a hard time fitting into it. AND its all my fault for having babies in the first place...so the skids say.
Deff. not wrong at all. The
Deff. not wrong at all. The house FH and I live in has a "mudroom" addition on to it that the people who lived here before us built and above that it has its own set of stairs and a bedroom/office we put ss8 up there because he only comes over on weekends, and then there a room connection to ours that is just a spare bedroom for now.
Nothing wrong with that. My
Nothing wrong with that. My stepkids do not have room in our house. They come when they feel like it so i told my dh i'm not wasting a room on them. Sorry. We have a small house, the third bedroom will be used for my second baby coming and then they'll lose the space made for them after that. they can sleep onthe pullout couches whenever they come. Which is oh...every 2-3 months or so....when they feel like it.
They are good kids but you know teens. they want their friends.
You MUST have a baby on the
You MUST have a baby on the same floor with you...TRUST ME!!!
