"Winona - Life wouldnt be such a B!tch to you, if you werent such a B!tch to begin with..."

CLove's picture

I am happier today: life is getting pretty tough on Winona right now, SO and I are getting along better, and the weekend is almost here.

Yesterday, apparently, Winona decided to clean her room slightly, and bashed her eyebrow on a drawer. So, she is patched up with those little butterfly bandaids, and I gave her some frozen blueberries because she is using all the ice cubes, and it is the best thing for icing. She will probably have a scar. I have one as well, on the same eyebrow, so we will be matching! She is extremely vain about her appearance and spends a lot of time in front of the mirror...

Then, as I was bustling around the house, running between backyard and front yard watering all plants and lawn (I hate lawns - they look so pretty but they are time/water hogs), Winona decides she wants to let the dog in the house, and didn't bother to check if the front door was open or not, so of course he tears out and down the street at breakneck speed.

SO never spent time training his dog. Nore his kids, but you all get that by now! Winona screams out at him, as she pops out in no shoes, just socks, and I simply ask "what happened? Oh, well, you know what to do", and sat back while she grabbed the leash and collar, and shouted back at me a snotty comment "I GET it CLove".

I could have told her that she should just wait for him to finish tearing around the neighborhood, that he would come right back, but then I wouldn't have had the entertainment I did! Watching her run around screaming at the dog was so precious. I told SO and he was amused as well. He is a big dog - part Sharpei, part hound and part pit. Strong, but very sweet, and very smart, and playful. He just wanted to play!!! LOL.

Last night I asked, innocently enough, did she ever get her birth certificate, you know, that thing you need to get a drivers license for driving that cute little BMW sitting in our driveway. All clean and shiny and pretty-like. Simply begging to be driven. She replied that "no one would take her to courthouse!" I asked about cousin H who took her to BMs apartment to get her things. Nope.

I suppose that I could offer, or suggest SO take her Friday, because he has half day. But part of me really wants her taking the bus through the summer classes she signed up for and through the fall as well. I did. Took sometimes 2-3 different buses, until I was 19.

Lets see how b!tchy life can get, now that she is out of high school, and having to figure things out for herself. Lets see how fast the realization of how good it was hits (the other eyebrow????)

Today is a good day.

I know Clever. It is what it is. I take pleasure in the obscure, and do not expect the majority to understand - thank you for not being the majority!!!

If I really took pleasure in her pain, I would not have offered my precious frozen blueberries!!!
LOL.

Yes, I had to learn the hard way as well, so I am also re-living my hardknocks...

She thinks you get birth certificates from the Court house? I feel like driving is not going to be her thing...

CLove's picture

In our neck of the woods you do. At least that is where I obtained my copies - the County Recorders Office is next to the courthouse. The hospital is another good place, but it takes longer.

And well, yes, the bus will have to become her friend for the time being.

next to the courthouse....a google search says it's the Department of Public Health, Vital Records section in California.

*shrugs*

typically not the keeper of birth certificates, though.

For example, in Wisconsin, it's the Office of Vital Records at the Department of Health Services...

Birth certs are hospital issued records, and are typically kept with departments of Human Services, Health Services or, in Michigan, it's the Secretary of State.

The funny part, is that why would BM not have this item, or SO?

My mother had everyone's filed in a folder, along with SSC, which she gave to us when we were old enough to be needing them (IE for drivers licenses, and other important things...)

SO just tells me that was "BMs area, that she took it with her for insurance purposes, and now cannot find them". There was plenty, and I mean PLENTY, of time to skedaddle around getting a birth certificate...

But, not my problem. And after snotty comment (its the same comment, I wish she would come up with something new and different!!!!) I will not offer help or suggestions... just sit back and see how long it takes, because I like timing things.

yep - not your problem Smile

As to why BM or SO don't have it? Could be like my situation when I gave DD26 hers when she went off to college and she promptly lost it.

Or when Asshat, who had previously misplaced his copies of our kids' BCs, took them to an island for vacation and needed my copies. And then "lost" them.

Let this girl learn on her own how to make her way in the world.

I know it is working for ASS - DH lets him do everything on his own now, and he is slowly figuring life out...

Winona is going forward in life at snails pace. Im just going to watch and wait and see. While I grow old...

LOL, how nice - losing all BC. On an Island. Well, that doesn't invite fraud at all does it? Or identity theft.

WalkOnBy's picture

She will either figure it out, or she won't. Life lessons either way Smile

As for the BCs, Asshat said he "lost" them when they got home and I asked for them back.

If I had a dollar for every dollar I have spent ordering damn birth certs!! LOL

Welcome to "school of hard knocks", to the brain.

I am just going to pop some corn, melt some butter and watch.

CLove's picture

Meh. Ive stopped asking those "problem-solving" type questions. She supposedly went online and paid for it but you have to pick it up in person. At least that's the story Im getting.

That IS very hard!!!!! Men drive me crazy too. Biggrin

thanks for making my day CLove..... I just saw this lazy ass girl running and screaming behind a playful dog, in socks, booty shorts and ......

I would've laughed so hard the neighbors would've thought I've gone mad......

Now simply pick up your cellphone, pretend to talk to some one and say, well I do not see the point of this little cute convertible standing in my drive way, I will give my daughter a month to get a drivers or I will simply sell it and use the money for our second honeymoon in Africa.... make sure Winona is in hearing distance Wink

no one ever said we can not have some fun with these girls

CLove's picture

LOL, Acratopotes, I did laugh pretty hard!!! Like as in belly laugh, laugh. Her being snotty just sealed it for me. Huffing and puffing back while slobbering smiling happy dog wags his tale at me...

The selling of car - that is exactly what I was thinking of doing next!!! Well, its on my LONG list. Just going to do it without warning though. She can squack later. Africa sounds great!!!!!

SO - he has been glaring at me when I have started being "slightly" tougher. I just told him he has to back off, and let me do my thing, and be ok with it. He is starting to see a little light. You see, he has backed off (part of his BIG plan), but I plan on making her uncomfortable, asking her to DO things, HELP out. And then get upset when it is not done. She needs to feel discomfort. More than 2 weeks since her high school graduation, and no job, no license and no activity. Just sleeping in every day. She did watch Gma for a day. Had 1 interview.

Time to kick up some dust.
