OT - What is everyone doing for Vday?

CBCharlotte's picture

DH made me a delicious dinner last night and breakfast in bed, and tonight we are going to see Deadpool. Can't wait! We had the skids on Vday last year so it is nice to spend some time with just us. How about you?

DP is super romantic and treats me great all year.
I didn't want to do anything this weekend (working on painting living room) so he's going to make me dinner tonight. I need to stay out of the kitchen. Can do.

DH bought roses, made me scrambled eggs with salmon and bellinis , and will cook a steak dinner tonight for me . I got him a card and lotto tickets , and a gift card for itunes since he lost most of his music when he bought his new computer .
Going to watch downtown abbey in my new silk pj's tonight and to bed early with DH ( * wink )

Nothing. DH gave me an incredible amethyst necklace to match the earrings he gave me last week, and a small Valentine's Day gift basket filled with treats. I'm floored. In past years he's given me just cheap chocolate, so this is really incredible. I'm glad I spent the money on the seriously expensive cognac for him.

It *would* be nice if DH wanted us to have a special dinner and make it feel more romantic than make it about gifts, but he's not like that. Oh well. I lived many, many years with nothing but special chocolate from my mother (who passed away 8 years ago) so at least someone's thinking about me. While I wish it wasn't necessary to have a commercial holiday to show love, some people (like my DH) are not romantic or overtly loving, so this helps a little.

DH is cooking crab legs for all of us. SS15 is sitting on his lazy butt asking, "When are we gonna eat?" Stupid a.

well VDay didnt go as planned, i had a horrendous headache and spend most of the day asleep! dh came in and laid a dozen roses on the bed - they. are. GORGEOUS. flourescent almost! he asked me to dinner, and i said that would be lovely - but then after reconsidering it, we'll wait until next weekend a) for the headache, and b) to avoid the longer wait. however, i did cook spaghetti-n-meatballs for him on saturday night and we cozied in on the couch since the kids were both gone until late.
