SD's Sudden Interest in Baths?
SD12--will be 13 next week--has always loved to be filthy dirty. She is most comfortable with clutter, garbage, dust, dirt, etc. During her whole life, DH has had to almost force her to take a bath, wash her hands, or even brush her teeth. Also, she has habitually been late coming home almost every night. Well, suddenly during these past 2 weeks, SD has come home 15-30 min early, walks straight to the bathroom, and is in there for 2-3 hours. I hear bath water running so I'm assuming she's taking a bath but this new habit is highly unusual for SD.
Any speculations on why the change in behavior?
Nothing noticeable has changed. Same friends. Same rude personality. Still doesn't brush teeth before going to school. Still loves to keep room dirty and downright gross. She even has a purse full of used tampons and a sandwich covered in green/black mold in her room. She doesn't have her own phone but I did find her friend's Kindle in her backpack. Maybe she's using the bathroom as an excuse to play on the internet.

Does she show any signs of
Does she show any signs of depression? Is she deliberately isolating herself by going into the bathroom? Could be all sorts of things, she could have a new fetish for hygiene (though not sure it takes 2 -3 hours). Could be electronics distracting her and all the possibilities of her reading or contacting inappropriate people (sounds likely). It could be bulimia..she could be purging. She could be cutting. She could be doing drugs. she could be crying her eyeballs out. It could be masturbation (but as others say 2 - 3 hours does seem a long time). Can she climb out the bathroom window? Is she going out of the house for that time?
Only you guys will know what other clues about her demeanor and behavior point to recently point to.

She's either got a boy she's
She's either got a boy she's hot for, or someone at school has been picking on her, or someone that she idolizes at school mentioned how "Only cool girls take 2 hour baths.. duh!" or she's running bath water and staying in there forever to hide something ELSE that she is doing... (drugs, phone call, taking/sending naked pics, snap chat etc)
Whenever SS16 comes to our house, he takes like 2 hour showers... he is a known pot smoker and I suspect much more. DH calls him out though or puts him on notice by knocking on the door and asking if everything is OK in there? Is anyone doing that to her?

I would come down on her a*se (and her father's) so hard and fast neither of them would sit for a month. Jeezus. Pigs belong in the pigpen, not in the house.
Why do you put up with this? Why do you allow both her to disrespect you, and her father to disrespect you by permitting this in your home?? I would have both their guts for garters...
