The two sides of Disney Dad
Thursday:
SO and I were driving in his truck, something we rarely do.
SO: It smells like urine in here
ME: I'll give you two guesses why
SO: The dogs (Yeah because the dogs piss in the truck that never gets used)
ME: No, SD
SO: Why would you say that
Me: *Crickets"
SO has had this truck since SD11 was around 4. She has peed and pooped in her pants since the day I met her. In fact, the reason I found this site was because we found a hidden treasure trove of 15 panties filled with pee and poop in her room this year. SO, your truck smells like urine because of YOUR KID.
Friday: --He turns it around
SD was invited to a Birthday Party three weeks ago. Their school is in BM's district and all the kids that go to that school live near BM not us. SO told SD to bring the invitation to our house and based on the distance and the time, we will decide whether or not she attends.
She didn't bring it to our house that weekend or the next weekend. Finally, this weekend she shows up with the invite and the party was Sunday. It was 1hr way on Sunday from 1-4pm. SO told her that it was too far but he would compromise. He would bring her to the party around 3 but SS would have to go also and then he would drop them both off at BM's house after it was over. SD of course pouted and whined and tried to get Disney Dad to drive her to the party, come back home, then drive back to the party then drop her off at BM's and then drive back home. 4 hrs of driving. SO asked me what he should do. I told him that she was told several times to bring the invitation to our house so we could plan this thing and she didn't. The party is too far away and she could have stayed with BM and had BM bring her to the party. (Of course everyone knows BM would never do that) I was proud of SO because he stood his ground and wasn't manipulated into giving up his Sunday to drive back and forth across the county.
Saturday:
One of Skids chores is to do the dishes after dinner on Friday and Saturday night. On Saturday morning I went into the kitchen to start breakfast. I have a cast iron spoon rest on my stove. When SD was cleaning off the stove she put the heavy spoon rest on top of a loaf of bread. The entire center was smashed. When I asked her why she did it, she said because she couldn't think of anywhere else to put it.
I told SO about it and said that I couldn't understand her thinking. She had the entire kitchen to place the spoon rest. She didn't have to smash the only loaf of bread we had. SO got an attitude with me and said "I'm sure you did stupid things when you were a kid" And Disney Dad is back.

I'm not fully awake yet (still on my first cup of coffee on my day off--a dark, rainy, shitty Monday), but are you saying that this 11-YEAR-OLD still shits herself?
My SD11stb12 does and pees
My SD11stb12 does and pees herself too.
It's a skid thing apparently.
We found the poop and pee
We found the poop and pee filled underwear in Nov sometime. So I would say yes. We buy her underwear about every two months. I hope she is at least throwing them in the trash now and I won't find another feces filled underwear pile.
And all this time I thought
And all this time I thought that my SS14 was the laziest kid on earth. He is frequently too lazy to flush the toilet after a dump, but at least he manages to get the poop in there.
DH just found 2 pair in the
DH just found 2 pair in the closet 2 weeks ago. SD11 blamed SD9, I'm sure it was SD11 but since she wears underwear 3 sizes to small, DH believed her lies.
Pfft
We have the same situation
We have the same situation with skids. BM lives 45 minutes away and everything they do is in their town. We have two skids so it's always complicated to have one do something because he still has to transport the other skid. DH is always having to drive back and forth for everything they do. He's fine with this and I don't care if he wants to spend his weekends doing it. I get annoyed when they don't tell us until the last minute and then it's a problem for plans we already have. DH gives in every time. He keeps saying he's going to tell them no next time. This very scenario played out this past Friday. SS didn't tell DH about something he wanted to do on Friday night until Wednesday night. SS knew about it for over a month. DH spent the entire night driving back and forth and the hell with our plans. Disney Dad at it's finest.
Look on the bright side. At least your DH considers saying no or doing something that makes rational sense in regards to the transportation. My DH never does.
Sometimes SO's laziness works
Sometimes SO's laziness works in my favor. }:)
How very very sad that her
How very very sad that her own mother can't take her to a party.
I agree and he didn't end up
I agree and he didn't end up taking her at all.

wtf is up with that response
wtf is up with that response of "I bet you did XYZ as a kid." Many times when I've pointed out a poor behavior of SS7 my DH retorts with "I bet you did that as a kid" or "How did you behave as a kid"? What the hell does it MATTER how I behaved as a child? I'm no longer a child!!
EXACTLY! I know when he says
EXACTLY! I know when he says that he's shifting focus away from SS but it's frustrating as hell.
I'm pretty sure I was done
I'm pretty sure I was done pooping and peeing in my pants by age 2 and knew not to put heavy stuff on squishy stuff by 6.
Although lately I've learned to never trust a fart.
I think it's in the COD
I think it's in the COD handbook that potty training is optional. Dad has plenty of money to replace ruined clothes and furniture. Also, he will hug on you when you reek of urine and pretend he doesn't smell it until you walk a way. Then bitch to SM about it but not make you bathe.
I don't know your backstory,
I don't know your backstory, but has your DH taken any steps to find out why his kid is willfully incontinent? I mean, she's waving a big red, poop stained flag that something is wrong. Untreated issues like this might mean the difference between your SD launching successfully or being a continuous source of strife in adulthood.
Take my DH's adult niece as a cautionary tale. She was also a "soiler" well up into her teens and the adults in her life never bothered to get her help. She's in her mid twenties now and her life has been a mess of drugs, eating disorders, domestic violence
and rehabs.
If you want a peaceful future, that kid's parents need to get her to a pediatrician and a shrink.
Neither BM nor SO have taken
Neither BM nor SO have taken SD to the doctor to find out whys she is doing this. BM says it normal and SO gets pissed when I talk about it.
Lord, I'm so sorry for you.
Lord, I'm so sorry for you. I'm even sorry for your skid. Their denial is harming their kid and impacting your life as well.
I think in the niece's case, her potty problem was a control issue. Both parents are dirtbags and she was exposed to a lot of chaos. Maybe her bodily functions were the only control she could exert?
What would happen if you printed out some articles on the subject and showed them to your DH? Make it about helping darling skid before she hits high school and is completely ostracized?
