Pre-up update. That didn't go well....
I brought up the pre-nup to SO last night. I mentioned a few ideas for the pre-nup, very high level. He did NOT take it well. He was very offended and accused me of "planning for us to fail"
I told him I honestly saw the hell he went through with BM2/Ex2, how fighting over money lasted 2 years and now they hate each other. If they had a pre-nup in place there would have been no questions. Since he makes a lot of money (his savings is mostly wiped out by greedy Ex2). If anything this pre-nup is protecting HIM and his future earnings. I said that I fully intend to stay married to him for the rest of our lives, but isn't it smart to have a plan made NOW while we are thoughtful and in love rather than, god forbid, at the end when we hate each other?
We have our first couples counseling session soon so maybe it is worth talking about in one of our sessions.

You are absolutely right. It
You are absolutely right. It is better to get all this hammered out while still in love and wanted to protect each other as well as yourself. Good for you.
Stick to your guns! I
Stick to your guns! I already told SO if/when we get married we are definitely getting a pre-nup
I have a healthy 401K and some mutual funds and a considerable amount inherited from my mother's estate. NOPE neither you nor skids are getting their paws on anything I don't want you to have!!
How ever much sense it would
How ever much sense it would make & I would agree for second marriages it makes good sense and planning. Emotionally, I would be offended and i can't foresee circumstances where would sign one. I would make sure my will was iron clad.
