OK I have a question and I need honest solid advice. I'm really thinking about starting a social club in my city for stepmoms. My city is huge very diverse with lots to do . I've been here for four years. I don't have any solid friendships partly due to my comfort level. Ppl act really strange when they find out your a step mom like aww were sorry for you lol. I'm just looking to connect and bond with like minds. There's so much to do in the Windy City. !!! I want to do things like Sip and paint, dinner once a month eventually maybe evolved into a charity or raise awareness of a greater cause. But my main goal is to bond with other stepmoms while having fun. What do you think

Yes its a very secluded world I feel like an outcast around family and so called friends no one in my family on either side has step kids. I did a double doozey I married someone who is not American and became a step mom.. Now I live in city with no family a very little support so I'm creating my own happiness because it dam sure won't come on its own

My mum is my number one fan but lately i think she's been avoiding me because of my complaints about the skids.

I once told her how I refused to clean their room because their dad is just as messy as them and doesn't help the kids to at least try - don't need them to be Martha Stewart - just to try.

My mum got very upset with me that I could leave the skids room untidy. I don't even do coffee groups after giving birth because I secretly envy first time mums who don't have skids and their biggest worry is that hubby doesn't wake up for feeds.

A weekly vent session with similar people wouldn't hurt so go for it.

Your right it's very lonely. I can't take it anymore. Skids use you for there own benefit at least mine do they could careless about me and it obvious. So Second City StepMom Social Club will be a reality. Wish me luck

I think its a great idea! You are really on to something here. If I lived near you I would probably find them time to meet up with other smoms.

I love what your group does. Sounds like its been a hit . I'm brainstorming right now.But Defiently no SKIDS or Husband talk or you will be forced to eat chocolate covered strawberries lol what torture.

Have you tried MeetUp.com? Great site for finding groups and creating them as well.
I think your idea is great, if there had been such a group a few years ago, I would
have joined. Smile
