Update to stabbing incident- principal called Dh last night
After calling in witnesses and taking statement, and questioning both boys all day, the principal feels he got the truth out and handed down punishements.....
Three day in school suspension for both boys o__0
What kind of crap is that?!?
The story ss12 went with Monday night to dh was of coarse total crap. His story, after denying he did anything for ten mjnutes, was that he was just talking to a girl, and out of the blue she told another boy ”get him, beat his ass” and this random boy jumped on him and was choking him and he was scared and had to stab him. Nice story right? seems he was the innocent victim and was just defending himself, right? Too bad its total bullcrap.
The real story? Ss12 and his good friend were horsing around, wrestling, horseplaying. Things got out of hand and friend put ss in a head lock, so ss took a pencil out of bis pocket and jammed it into the kids shoulder. Kid apparently has a good sized puncture wound.
So once again, ss acts a total fool, and basically gets a slap on the wrist.
Now, my question, which will never be answered, is this. Did ss feel legitimately ”threatened and scared” when his bext friend had him in a headlock...... Or did he just think that stabbing him was the next funny thing to do? Both seem entirely possible with this kid.

For your sanity I am glad
For your sanity I am glad that is all he got.
However, It is absolutely disgusting that he got away with it again. He really should have to go to an alternative school at this point.
Is your DH going to punish
Is your DH going to punish him since the school apparently isn't too intested in going down that road?
He claims he is.....but dh
He claims he is.....but dh tends to lose interest in enforcing punishemnts very quickly, so who knows.
Right now he getx no TV or electronics until further notice.
I'd also request that SS lose
I'd also request that SS lose recess for the remainder of the semester. Obviously no real supervision is going on either at recess and/or in the hallways. Both kids were wrong and no student should be horseplaying, it leads to exactly what happened. I'm not excusing SS whatsoever, but with ADHD these are exactly the situations these kids lose out in with impulse control. PE, recess, and lunchroom where the kid can get all wound up are total triggers.
Have you had his meds reviewed lately? A cross combination of Dh never giving the kid consequences or calling him out (like the other day at amusement park) and a wrong med or a med that isn't working anymore are going to accelerate SS's compulsive 'devil may care' behavior.
He sees a psychiatrist
He sees a psychiatrist monthly, not sure exactly whats said there as I dont go. His next apt is in a week and a half, so I suspect his meds will be re-evaluated.
