Be careful what you wish for...you just might get it
So, for the last few years, I kept asking DH when SS14 was going to hit puberty, mostly because I can't stand his shrill, shrieking voice, especially when he's gearing up to argue about nothing, which is the vast majority of the time. Well, the time is here, and his voice is finally starting to change...only now, when his voice cracks, it sounds EVEN WORSE. Of course, it cracks especially badly when he's gearing up to argue about nothing...which is the vast majority of the time. Now, instead of sounding like two feral cats fighting in an alleyway, he sounds like one of those feral cats is being attacked by a goose. God help me, can't he just, like, leave and go to military school or something so I don't have to listen to him anymore?
Also, just a bonus short story: SS12 is still so afraid of spiders that he actually called us at the gym wanting us to come home early because there was a spider in his room and he was too scared to go in there. I swear he must've been waiting for, like, an hour because when we went to unlock the door when we finally DID get home (after not rushing the rest of the workout, and stopping to talk to one of the other gym regulars for a solid 30 minutes), he was already standing at the door and unlocked it before DH could even get the key into the lock! I mean, I don't love spiders, and I think they're scary, but I don't let it cripple me. Good luck to SS12 when he grows up and calls the building superintendent to come kill a spider every time he sees one in his living room.

SD11 is afraid of her own shadow and is VERY dramatic about every discomfort. For instance we were all playing with air soft bb guns shooting at zombie targets and the plastic bb's were richocheting and hitting everybody. The 4 year old squealed in delight, the 5 year old laughed, the 12 year old giggled....SD 11 held her stomach and had to go lay down for the next 3 hours because a hollow plastic bb hit her after bouncing off the side of the house. She was taking a shower and there was a daddy long leg up by the window so she jumped out of the shower and left and got dressed. Left the water running, didn't tell anybody, just sat there shaking. How the hell does someone get like this???
