OT/Read any good books lately?
A lot of people mentioned on ammart1k's blog that they read to escape. I love to read. I read about a book a week. I just finished reading Escape from Camp 14. It was really sad, and heavy. It affected me for days after I finished reading it. I am looking for some good reads. Everything I've been reading lately has been heavy and serious. I'll read just about anything, but I'm not
really into romance novels.
Tuesdays are library days for me and DD3. So I'm looking for something new and different.
What are some of your favorite books?

Mitch Albom's The Five People
Mitch Albom's The Five People You Meet In Heaven
Mitch Albom's Tuesdays With Morrie
Both are short, good reads, tear jerkers but leave you feeling good.
The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo
A little longer but also one of those books you feel good at the end about.
If you're an animal lover, definitely James Herriot's All Creatures Great And Small and all the ones in the series. They're memoirs about his time as a vet. Most of them funny, all of them heartwarming. One or two tear jerkers.
World War Z if you're a zombie fan.

Oh my goodness, that is such a wonderful gift you gave people!
You know what, this is definitely a book everyone should read (so is Tuesdays With Morrie) and I think that's what I'm going to give people for Christmas this year.
Brat Fararr by Josephine Tey.
Brat Fararr by Josephine Tey. It was in the bookshelf at the lake cottage I stayed in, and I'm finishing it up now. Very light read. It's an older novel though.
Light reads are about all I can handle right now.
In also reading the gaslight
In also reading the gaslight effect. Self help book. It's really about how to change my behavior and mindset to fight what is essentially the tactics a lot of DH's use in arguments with SMs. It's not just about classic Gaslighting. I like it so far. tough to read it w/o SO finding out. Lol.

I"m reading "The name of the wind" By Patrick Rothfuss It's the first book of a trilogy. If anyone likes Harry potter but a better adult version fantasy book this is it. After the first 100 pages or so you cannot put it down. It's a long read but def worth it so far!
Not much of an 'escape' but
Not much of an 'escape' but I've been reading StepMonster and it is insanely good. Seriously, a great read. I've read it and cried, and I've read it and questioned my sanity. Even BF has started reading it. Seriously, a great book.
Under the Dome is on my
Under the Dome is on my Kindle right now. I'm just over halfway through it. I'm watching the series too, and the book is a lot different so it's hard not to get them mixed up. Both are really good if you're into Stephen King. I read a lot, always downloading freebies from Amazon, and most are pretty good.
