Focus on the Adorable...

We picked up SDstb3 yesterday and DH stood outside the car to talk to BM for a minute. SD was chatting happily. She pointed at DH

SD: That my black daddy. (DH is about as white as you can get. People think he is albino occasionally)
Me: :? Um, no sweetie, Daddy is white.
SD: NOPE! He my black daddy today. And Mommy is my black mommy!
Me: And what am I?
SD: YOU are my purple mommy. And that my pink sister!

At this point I realized she was referring to the shirts everyone was wearing. Boy, I got a laugh out of that one.

SD: Daddy's taaaall.
Me: Yes, your daddy is very tall. You're going to be tall like him when you grow up.
SD: Mommy is short.
Me: Yeah, I guess your mom is kinda short (She's about 5'4" but most of our family is 5'8" and up)
SD: Mamatoo is tall.
Me: Yep, I'm pretty tall.
SD: Mommy too short for Daddy. Mamatoo tall and Daddy tall. That good.
Me: *laughing* Whatever you say cutie.

The rest of the day she was an absolute terror (temper tantrums anytime she didn't get her way. BDstb2 doesn't throw temper tantrums yet so maybe I'm just not used to them yet so it seemed a ridiculous amount...) but I'm going to just focus on the adorable.

Ahh!! I love them when they are little. My 15 yo not-so-much today }:) }:)

I honestly thought that 3 was 100x's worse than 2. Seriously!! It's like they suddenly understood that they *could* say no and MEAN no.

Age 3 was far worse than age 2..... but 4 was pleasant!! Just don't let a 3yo win. Remember to pick your battles LOL!

One more year one more year...

She's so funny, she says "No" to *everything*.
Do you want ice cream? No, I don't want ice cream. Okay, no ice cream then. (Threw temper tantrum when she saw BDstb2 eating ice cream. Still insisted she didn't want any, but she also didn't want BDstb2 to have any either!)
Do you want to go see Uncle B? No. We get there and she's jumping up and down screaming "UNCLE B!!!"
lol smh

Snicker!!!! I used to love the "no" game! Drove my now-XH nuts. Even my DS who couldn't stand this nasty-sister-thing loved the "no" game when DD was 2-3.

Do you want to go to the park?
"NO!"

..... oh wait, YES!!

Nope, sorry you said "NO!" **followed by belly laughter**

It was even funnier out of a 6yo's mouth than mine!!

Ahhhh, sometimes I miss those days.

Other days... I can't wait for Empty Nest Syndrome!!!
