BM called the police, finally, when SS didn't come home after school

Finally, someone did something and I feel so releived that the police are involved. Ss was supposed to help bm with a yard sale and moving the weekend but was refusing to help - which started a huge fight that ended with her calling him a pothead and him punching a hole in a wall. Its no wonder he didnt come after school... if he even went to school. He has missed so many days hes nit going to pass freshman yr. Sometimes he doesnt come home for days at a time so this is no different but finally one of his parents took action.

I hope that the police find him... they have a way of tracking his ipad he has from the school and always has with him....and I hope hes got drugs on him when they do so he goes to juvi or rehab or something.

Poor SS, a 15 yr old who thinks hes a man, with the psyche of a broken 7 yr old... dealing with his broken family without help from his parents. Cutting and self medicating because he doesn' t know how to deal with his anger.

I hope they find him and everything gets better.... doubt its that simple

I am sorry. It must be very hard to want to see a child get help to a brighter future. Yet, you are a bystander that has no say so. Keep us posted.

Sorry things have escalated so soon after your last post. My YSD was also a cutter who used drugs and alcohol to drown her sorrows. I imagine SS is holed up somewhere and will be found eventually, perhaps this will be the kick his parents needed to actually take his problems seriously.

No ones heard from SS yet. A missing persons report has been filed. SO is finally REALLY scared about whats going on with his son. I hate to see him upset like this but I' m so happy he is finally seeing the problem for what it is. I hope hes just sleepin off a hangover somewhere avoiding going home since his bm was trying to ground him. I asked how much money he stole and it was only $10 ... doesnt sound like running away money. I just want him to come home soon so everyone can move on to the next step. Weve spent the day looking into inpatient facilities for getting ss help over summer break. Ugh.

Thanks to everyone for being encouraging. Ss finally called BM for a ride home from a park he supposedly stayed at overnight. We all doubt that story is true but I think it was the way to cover for a friend. Anyway, I think SO got a pretty bad scare and he will probably be picking up SS tonight to stay for the rest with us for the rest of the weekend. Theyre going to have a loooooooooong talk. Feeling releived now that we know SS is safe.
