We live in a terrible world

Praying for all the people hurt by the bombs at the Boston Marathon!! I don't understand why someone would do such a terrible thing!! Thankfully I didn't take the kids this year to watch. I am hearing that people lost limbs and it's very bad.

I know! You have to be afraid to send your kids to school, afraid to go to malls, now you can't go to a marathon!! Its a holiday in MA today so many people don't have work and everyone goes to the marathon! The people hurt were watching at the finish line and its families with kids.

It's crazy. The Aurora theater shooting as well as Columbine High are obviously close to everyone's hearts here but every time I read of something like this it just hurts.

Obviously, we can't all live our lives in fear but shit, does it ever end?

Its so terrible. I am still not over the kids in CT being killed in school. That was on DD's birthday. I drive thru there to go to my sisters house and it upsets me everytime I see the Newtown sign.

I hate that its on that day, don't you!! Right after that happened, DD11 was having her birthday party and my heart was so not in it and she saw that I was really upset over something and I didn't want to ruin her party and tell her what happened. A couple of days after that happened, I had to drive thru that town and I was in tears. I still cannot watch it on the news when they talk about it. I don't want my BD4 to go to Kindergarten in September!! I want to keep her home with me forever!! Those poor children must have been so scared.

My DD11's school just did a lockdown drill. Its terrible that we have to be afraid of our kids being in school. It makes me nervous now. Now every year on her birthday I am going to think of that tragedy. It is always still on the news maybe because we are so close to it. And now this. They just said an 8 yr old child was killed. So sad and unnecessary!

My kids school was ON lockdown today. I happen to be in the office when the dispatch came over "PUT YOUR SCHOOL ON LOCKDOWN, MAN WITH A WEAPON ON CAMPUS" I thought I was going to throw up. My heart stopped. Some guy was running from the police, cut through school property. The weapon was a knife. Could have been a lot worse. Got stuck there for 2 hours.

How scary!! I'm glad everyone was ok. I hate people so much lately!! There are so many crazy people in the world. I will definitely think twice before going to an event like this in the city again. There's a walk going on in the city in June. I was going to go with the kids. I don't think I will now. I was supposed to be going into Boston tomorrow to meet a friend. Not happening!

There are two confirmed casualties at this point. We live in a sick, sick world.

No consequences - that's why people are bolder and more willing to commit crime and also why they turn to vigilante justice.

Or maybe the killer's mommy didn't let him learn how to self soothe as a child, lol.

Definitely praying for them! We had kind of a close call. My little sister runs the Boston Marathon every year, and didn't go at the last minute as she didn't feel well. We were blessed today!!

It's been all over the news here in Aus this morning, 2 people dead, one an 8 yo child, directly from the bombing. And hundreds injured. That was the last I heard a few hours ago.

I just can't fathom what possesses anyone to do this. I hear it all, religion, yada yada yada, but I just cannot get my head around how ANYONE could kill innocent people for ANY reason.

Sorry. I was just pointing out that the deaths are being reported ALL over the world as being related to the bombings. No harm intended.
