A New Low for BM - I Guess She Really IS That STUPID!!!

lac925's picture

DH finally got on BM's case about SS11 STILL not being able to read - even though she recently got a hefty disability cheque for his ADHD (which I'm assuming is to help with learning supplies, etc) - and I couldn't believe what he told me her response was..."He's only 11." :jawdrop: :jawdrop: :jawdrop:

Are you f*cking kidding me?!? ONLY 11??? I was shaking my head so hard that it started going BACKWARDS! At 11, I was writing essays, using CURSIVE writing, and learning how to do research on different subjects! I understand if it's a learning disability thing, but he should at least be STARTING to read by now. What's gonna happen when he's 20 yrs old? Is she still gonna be using that excuse? "He's only 20." SMH

I read an article recently about smoking having an effect on the brain (more precisely, it can start to rot the brain), and I can honestly vouch for that. BM's a regular smoker, so I guess her reasoning is pretty much gone when it comes to her kids. As long as she keeps getting these cheques, then in her mind, it's okay that her kids are only mediocre at best.

My 5-yr-old and 11-month-old will most likely be reading before he does Blum 3 "Only 11"...Give me a freaking break!!! Then, we'll be hearing "He's only 20..." and "He's only 45..." No wonder he can't do anything by himself! Jeez!

Can he play football? He can go to USC (ala OJ) and still be functionally illiterate. Smile

That really is pathetic. She must be brain dead.

The skids were actually in Hockey a couple of years ago, and they recently took up Tae Kwon Do (yay, a sport where it's OK to be violent! blech!).

But yeah, he'll be a burden to the system for the rest of his life if she doesn't get off her lazy fat ass and do something! That article said something about smokers' learning abilities and reasoning start to go, so I guess that's where it comes from! :?

Wow, what kind of check is that? My kiddo is autistic, we homeschool and have NEVER gotten a check from anybody...lol Not that I want one, but I'd love to know how these people get all this freaking money...honestly, I think it is ridiculous to get anything.

Anyway, PS about the smoking...I smoke...BM is the stupidest woman alive...she doesn't...so, no, I don't think that smoking makes a difference at all...you are either an idiot or not.

PS - my kiddo is autistic and has ADHD, etc. and does read...he is also 11...

My mother smoked. I was an academic all star. My brother and sister too. And we came from parents who didnt' even graduate from high school.

I'm not a smoker and don't usually defend smoking - but I don't think it affected me that my mother smoked.

That's great that you turned out the way you did. My comment on the "smoking can rot the brain" stems from what I read in that article (it was on Sympatico.ca). And it hit me that that's probably where some of BM's stupidity comes from. I didn't mean to generalize it, saying that ALL smokers have a brain deficiency.

Some of my good friends smoke and they have successful jobs and families. I just thought it was an "AHA!" moment because BM smokes and she's a raving idiot. Blum 3

Wow. First, kudos to your child Smile You must spend a lot of time with him, which is what BM does NOT do. She just blames the ADHD for it so that she doesn't look like a "bad mother". :?

The frustrating thing is that now, she's got SD9 "diagnosed" with ADHD. And she's the best one out of the two! She's helpful, calm, doesn't have any angry outbursts (unless she's around SS11, but he's an annoying little sh*t, so I don't blame her!). So your guess is as good as mine as to HOW these people get these cheques! I've read about other parents who haven't even asked for any assistance from the government. I guess it takes a special kind of low to go for gov't handouts - and even lower when you have to try to con the gov't out of tax payers' money!

Dh has TRIED to sit down with him and teach him how to read (or at least read BETTER), but there is only so much that we can do on our end. We SHOULD probably be consulting with the school, but BM would throw yet another hissy fit...and more often than not, sometimes things are just better left unsaid Sad

Yea, I don't know what your BM has been smoking, but, just because a kid has ADHD does not make it OK that he can't read at the age of 11. I've known plenty of kids that have had that diagnosis and could read before that age. Most had at least basic reading skills by the time they were in first grade. She's just sounds lazy and ignorant, looking for some kind of an excuse to assuage her own insecurities about being a crap mom.

"She's just sounds lazy and ignorant, looking for some kind of an excuse to assuage her own insecurities about being a crap mom."

I-m so happy Exactly! Thank you! She also accepts it because she gets a nice hefty cheque - which she CLEARLY isn't putting to good use! :?
