Happy Thanksgiving all Steptalkers

CLove's picture

Even if you dont celebrate in your country, I am THANKFUL for YOU.

Startng tonight, off for the next two days and then the weekend.

Got started with a work review and a raise.

Ive got TWO Thanksgiving dinners, my family and then DH's considerably larger family. No purchase (which is good because the stores are CRAZY busy) no prep, just show up and eat and hang and leave.

Then a nice little dinner with a friend.

No plans other than to sleep in, and lounge.

After the past 2 weeks where I was in pain from a cracked crown, then another illness to reccouperate from, I am thankful for my continued health, the world of medicine, and family, and all of YOU here on Steptalk.

I live in the UK, so of course no Thanksgiving, but Happy Thanksgiving for everyone who celebrates it - have a wonderful day!

Our Brit friends make it a point to send us that message twice every year. Thanksgiving and July 4th. On TG the message is "Enjoy your gluttony you ungrateful colonials."  July 4th is "Happy traitors day you ungrateful colonials."

They were at every one of the TG parties we hosted while in KSA and at the US Consulate for July 4th every year.  In fact, they got the tickets for us through the British Council.  There are so many US citizens in the Eastern Province that the tickets are extremely hard to get.  The Brit Diplomats get more tickets than they can give away. So.... Thanks for tickets to our independence day celebration..... Losers.

Thank you KES.

May your Holiday season be blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving! It's just me, my dad, and my youngest today. Usually my kids go to their dad's side but since my youngest came out as trans and started, well, transitioning, they weren't invited. I'm thankful to have them with me today! My oldest is going to his gf's family's dinner, and my family will have a traditional dinner this weekend. I feel bad for my youngest but i am grateful for the extra time we will have together. I'm upset with my former in-laws but also realize they are country religious people in a backward town in the deep south. Hopefully with time they will change their views. My side is more open-minded.

But still making Thanksgiving dinner with almost all of the trimmings for Chef and I.  Chef is working today and insists on it.

ESMOD, you've piqued my interest! Please, tell us more? Daring to confront a woman whom I consider to be the most sensible and pragmatic contributor on this site, your MIL and Co. must have been, (hypothetically speaking) flayed alive. One can certainly hope! Good
