My Skids love to watch IT (which is too scary for me!).

I used to watch scary movies - some favorites were Scream, the Exorcist, Silence of the Lambs.

I accidentally went to see the first Saw movie and still have flashbacks even though I closed my eyes during the really bad parts. I say accidentally because my friend picked it and I didn't know what it was about.

Similarly, I saw the Conjuring when the movie we planned to see was sold out. My friends had more fun watching me jump out of my seat than watching the movie.

Psycho (the original; not sure if they remade it)

Chef likes TCM.

I torture my household by watching horror movies year round.  Doesn't matter how bad they are, I at least have to check them out.

Instead of listing every single one, my all time favorite is the original Halloween and then I hit up prime, netflix, hulu and peacock for the rest.

One other that is animated but one of my favorites (in book form as well) is Ray Bradbury's Halloween Tree

is pretty good.  And Elizabeth Montgomery's version of Lizzie Borden.

When I stayed at the Lizzie Borden house the lady who owned the place had us watch that movie, it was such a trip watching it in the same sitting room the father was murdered in.

I'm a big scaredy cat and have never watched scary movies.  When I was 15, back in 1960, I had a first date with a handsome, Italian neighbor.  He took me to a new movie.  I was busy concentrating on my looks (and his) and not paying much attention to the plans.  It was Psycho.  I have never been so terrified.  Lol.

Vampire movie with Ethan Hawke. Not particularly horror, more thriller (a bit gory), but a favorite of mine. I'll never forget seeing it in the theater, the huge, muscled out guy in front of me jumped at one of the scenes, spilled his popcorn everywhere and let out the highest pitch squeal!!

So I'm a wimp. And my hubby's an even bigger wimp, so I guess that makes him a weenie. Can't handle scary movies. So here is my Halloween-lite list!

*Hocus Pocus

*Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

*Ghostbusters (all of them!)

*The Adaams Family/Adaams Family Values (new one this year!)

*Casper the Friendly Ghost

*The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Disney version)

*Beetlejuice

Go ahead and roll your eyes. Smile

I love all these moveis too, I get tired of the blood and gore and just need some fun spooky.  Have you watched the Muppets Haunted Mansion yet?  Super cute!

They aren't movies but, I LOVED the Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. You can binge them in two days.
