Weird
Yesterday, SD14 got up and showered early in the morning. Then she went back to her room, about 15 feet away from ours, and called her mother, complaining that her stomach hurt. Next SD14 texted her dad (again, 15 feet away) and told him to call her mother. So he does, and BM informs him SD14's stomach hurt, and she wanted to take the kid to the hospital 90 minutes away. Hubs is understandably confused. Why didn't kid tell him, when he's right here? Who takes kids to the hospital for a simple stomach ache? Why drive past 3 hospitals to get to a specific one, 90 minutes away?
Hubby stalls, tries to take care of SD14 himself, but the kid is completely uncooperative. So he relents, and drives kid to the nearest hospital, about 5 minutes away, where BM meets them. But only one can go in with her because of The Rona, so he leaves SD14 there with BM. All day, literally like 10 hours of tests, etc., and they can't find anything wrong. They tell her to stay on liquids the rest of the day and send her home. Today she is fine.
I'm thinking there's a whole lot more to this story. There is something going on, somewhere between stomachache and faraway hospital, that SD and BM aren't telling my hubby.
And now, hubby is out of town the rest of the week for work, but his ex won't say if/when she wants the kids back. Our normal trade day is Wednesday, but BM hates me and I can't believe she'd leave the kids with me, without him here. She won't say she doesn't want them back, but all we're being told is that "if" she takes them back early, it "might" be tomorrow. But no one is sure.

My "spidey" senses would be tingling as well
My "spidey" senses would be tingling as well. That is apt to be a pretty big ER bill, how much will DH have to pay? Any chance she is pregnant?
Possible
Kids have good insurance, so copays shouldn't be too bad. Pregnancy and/or a secret abortion were my first thoughts. But I kinda talked myself out of that, because SD14 seems almost stunted on the subject of the opposite sex, shows no interest whatsoever. Also if they wanted to sneak an abortion, they could do it during BM's visitation, and we'd be none the wiser. So I have no idea, and hubs seems/says he is just as confused about what the heck went down yesterday.
The ED won't do a secret
The ED won't do a secret abortion anyway. Could it be period stuff she doesn't want to talk to DH about?
Sounds more like BM just likes the attention she gets for being "such a good mother" when she takes SD for medical care. Ridiculous that they went to the ED for a stomach ache. Next time DH needs to overrule BM and take the kid to urgent care. What a waste of resources.
I was thinking period cramps
I was thinking period cramps too. Why do they just agree to bring her to the hospital? Seems extreme.
He should get
He should get an EOB if he carries her insurance so he will know exactly what treatment was given in a few weeks. Or sooner if your ins is online and has a patient portal.
In my state, any reproductive
In my state, any reproductive stuff is confidential from age 12 up ...
NPD BM did this a couple of
NPD BM did this a couple of times - SD25 would phone her with some ailment while she was at our house, she would phone DH, and then DH would be forced to take her to hospital which was 45 minutes drive away. Both times it was something inconsequential requiring no treatment. It's just part of the drama/attention cycle. The reason they phone their mother is that the DHs would be inclined to say, lets see how it is later. But Miss Drama doesn't like that answer.
Toxic Troll loves Emergency rooms
In fact, she texted DH last week, asking him if he could take Feral Forger to the e-room for medications because of "lung issues" (is it the many fires in california? is it her vaping? or pot smoking?) Munchkin SD14 thinks its all fake.
FF has been to the e-room more times than I can count on both hands and feet. In fact, she was baker-acted at one time.
Munchkin had her first trip a few months ago for a "sore tailbone".
The victim complex continues.
OMG. My SDs have always been
OMG. My SDs have always been taken to the ER for every little thing. They think it's totally normal to just pop in to the ER when you have a headache or whatever. You should have seen their faces when they randomly overheard me telling someone that my DD has never gone to the ER in her life. They didn't have an actual pediatrician until 2 years ago. It's mind boggling, for sure. In our case I think it all ties to BM's need for attention and angst. If there isn't a good source of it, by god she will stir something up. Unfortunately I can see that my SDs will almost certainly continue the cycle.
