Thankful Thursday: music edition

Aniki WE MISS YOU. Hope you are well and I'm thankful to count you among my friends. Stay strong, sister!!

In your honor, and to piggy back off Gim's concert blog, I would like to discuss one of my favorite passions some more: music.

We have already had two concerts we had tickets to come and go during the lockdown. We are poised to miss two more. We generally see 4 to 6 shows a year and 2020 was looking like a bumper crop year for shows until COVID crashed the party. First world problems, I know.

But this has given me a chance to revisit my favorite albums to help soothe my hurt feelings at missing out on some face-melting metal, some tear-jerking folk and some fist pumping rock n roll. The number 1 reason we go to so many shows is because music is meant to be a communal experience that brings people together. It is in our bones!

On that note, let's share! What 5 (or more....seriously who can put a limit on it?!?) Albums/musicians do you turn to when you need some inspiration?

I will list some emotions/needs, you provide the music:

1. Excited/get pumped up

2. Sad

3. Angry

4 Nostoglic

5. Love

Ok steppeople! Take me on a tour!!

It's so interesting to see how music affects us in different ways. Why is Sublime in your sad list?!

I think it's more melancholy I feel when listening to them, just reminds me of my late teens early adulthood .
