My BD(7) is finally going to get her room
For those of you that have followed my blogs you'll know that close to a year ago we moved my BD out of SD(7)'s room and into our den. Since then it's been a den with a huge adult computer desk with her bed, dresser, and toy box smashed into it.
Her bday is on Wednesday of next week so as a gift I am doing a bedroom make over for her. I can't wait to see the expression on her face when she sees it. I am going to paint a very soft yellow accent wall, remove the desk and computer, and put up some posters and a princess canopy. I also got her an end table, a new stero, and a plasma ball that can be used as a nightlight.
DH is going to put in a T.V. and DVD player so that she can watch movies in her room just like the other two kids. I started getting everything about two months ago and have been chomping at the bit to get started.
Unfortunately she'll have to stay in one of the other kids rooms until Wednesday because I want it to be a surprise for her.
I just had to share. I know she'll be so happy and feel more like she's a part of the family. Both SS(5) and SD(7) have great rooms so I'm happy she'll finally have the same. Granted I know SD will flip out. She doesn't like it when anybody else is the center of attention or gets something she feels like she deserves. I can already hear it now. "I hate my room. It's ugly and so on."

Oh and I almost forgot. DH's
Oh and I almost forgot. DH's mother got her a really cute comforter set too. She's going to love it.
I hate bratty selfish kids
I hate bratty selfish kids like that ugh. I am so happy for your BD7 to finally have what the other two already had! She deserves it just as much as them.
Completely ignore SD7, or tell her it is selfish and bratty to act like that when she already got her big room makeover. Sounds like SD7 just wants to feel like she is the princess of the house and your BD7 should be like Cinderella or something. Nasty little kid.
Good for you and your BD7! I'm sure she will be thrilled and appreciative. Tell her SD7 is just jealous and to ignore her if she acts ugly.
I've already talked to DH
I've already talked to DH about this. I told him that SD will freak out about but do not coddle her. She is not being mistreated in anyway shape or form. She had her bedroom make over for her bday last year and my BD didn't freak out and cry about it. This is the one day a year that my BD gets all to herself.
I'll have to remind DH when it gets closer to the date. I know he'll want to comfort her by letting her steal the show and tell her about all the things he's going to buy for her room.
I have faith that DH won't
I have faith that DH won't put up with any of her trying to steal the show with whining, complaining or crying. My BD won't have anything more then she has in her room other than three posters and a plasma ball. I'm planning on getting her some posters a little later down the road and she already has a nightlight.
We'll see how it all plays out.
