How do ya'll do gifts? My husband's oldest stepdaughter is living with a man and they have a two year old together. Last year we didn't give the same amount to him as to her. Trying to keep it equal between the two daughters right.... well with a granddaughter now and the boyfriend whom seems to be a pretty good relationship. We were going to give gift cards to the daughter and her boyfriend separately but should they be equal value and then buy toys for the grandbaby. What about the younger SD that just recently decided to apologize .... I don't know what do to or how to handle this. Feeling like a bah humbug season and I usually love the holidays....

Hmm...

I'm not big on gifts for adults...So I have no advice there...other than Secret Santa...That's what we do for the adults...Pull names and we buy a gift (budget of $50) for one person only...(When we have Christmas together as one big family). If we don't spend Christmas together, we just send everybody a Christmas card...

Or if you have a budget, split the amount among all of them and get gift cards...

That's what I'd do...

And I'd get the baby something...

Both my Mom and my inlaws do a couples gift for the adults, and then buy the kids things individually. Usually a gift card to DH and I, to a really nice restaurant, or one year they knew we were going on a cruise after Christmas so they got us a gift certificate for onboard credit from Carnival Cruise Lines. This year we're going to Las Vegas so I bet it'll be something from there (restaurant, show, etc)

I would give the adult money inside of a card with both their names on it.

The kid would get a toy and an outfit.

DH would foot the cost not me.

I don't have grand kids (thanks god) but this is how my parents and in laws do it. We get a couple gift and then they get the kids something. That is what I am going to do.

As far as the sd that just apologized I would wonder why??? To get gifts! Wink
