Divorce Busting - Shysters Who Prey on the Vulnerable
I'm not sure if this is an OT blog or not.
I was googling along my merry way and I came across a site, http://www.divorcebusting.com, where a woman is selling marital advice over the phone at the rate of $150 for 45 minutes. If this woman has any educational credentials they are well hidden on the site.
Apparently the target client is a woman whose husband has made it clear that he does not want to continue the marriage, he doesn't love her anymore and he wants out. No amount of begging, pleading, writing love letters, reminding him of days gone by, nothing works to change his mind. He wants out and that is it. This 'therapist' (who judging from her hair-do is still living in the late 70's disco era) claims that if you give her enough money and get on the phone she'll tell you, in 45 minutes, what to do to change his mind.
IMO, this is appalling. Who is more emotionally vulnerable than the woman who is being dumped? If there was some magic method for hypnotizing people and making them fall back in love, a method which can be taught over the phone in 45 minutes, wouldn't we have all heard about it by now?
People like this woman should be tossed in jail, right along with the TV evangelists!

LOL there's even a 'Sex-Starved Wife Coaching Program' for $390 that promises to:
coach you on ways to approach your husband that will fuel his desire to be more sexual and passionate with you
Save the $390 ladies, I'll tell you the secret now.
Compliment him. Lots. Don't worry about sounding insincere. They don't care.
Go buy yourself a sexy bra and matching panties, silk stockings with a seam up the back and garter belt. Wear strappy shoes with 6" heels. Meet him at a hotel, the sleazier the better with a LARGE bottle of baby oil and/or whipped cream if he's the adventurous type.
Let your imagination take care of the rest.
That will be $390 please. PM me for the PO Box to send it to.
I'm pretty sure most husbands
I'm pretty sure most husbands are just happy to be having sex! LOL!
No kidding. If I wanted
No kidding. If I wanted advice on anything I don't think I'd go to someone who hasn't realized that disco is dead.
nut jobs all over the place.
nut jobs all over the place. she sounds like a big steaming POS.
That poor woman and you know
That poor woman and you know she is going to spend hundreds of dollars and in the end will be divorced anyway - hope she gets a lot in the divorce settlement so that she can pay this POS for her stupid advice. I am surprised that the woman is not telling her to take a stand and read the signs and don't let anyone walk all over you and get out while you can but I am suspecting that that would make her no money - people like that should get locked up for taking advantage of someone when they are so vulnerable!
It is despicable indeed, and
It is despicable indeed, and yes it's such a vulnerable time isn't it.
I feel the same way about most attorneys though-they take advantage of people at vulnerable times, of their pain, the anger to make thousands from them, drag divorces on, custody on, all the while they are banking it and meeting their friend attorneys for drinks afterwards and high five their earnings.
It's deplorable. The whole divorce/custody systems needs a re-haul. Somebody is getting rich...and this is money that can go for both parties to get back on their feet and towards the childrens support and expenses. It disgusts me beyond belief that the couple splitting AND the kids pay the high cost of attorneys getting rich.
And see..the thing is there are vindictive mean people that go for everything-hence why we need reform and more fairness. We shouldnt' allow attorneys to drag things out and take advantage of people's anger to encourage them taking their ex to the cleaners. Just sick.
Ding Ding Ding A light bulb
Ding Ding Ding
A light bulb just went on over my head.
Remember the poster who was supposedly in training to be a counselor and was assigned homework of trolling through this site to find examples of how the SMs cause dysfunction in the family?
I actually didn't believe a single word of it at the time.
Now I wonder, I suppose a site like this divorce busting one might actually 'train' people to be phone counselors that way. I can't imagine that any legitimate operation would.
No Doubt. Obviously a site
No Doubt. Obviously a site like that prey on the emotionally helpless and clueless. WOW
I'd rather come on steptalk and get free advice that helps and throw the rest away..
