Just frustrated... he just doesn't get it
Not a big deal really, I just need to vent and maybe get a little bit of validation. Here's what happened...
DH: "Ugh! SS10 threw the clean laundry all over the floor!"
ME: "Maybe we should have him fold everything after school today."
DH: "I will deal with him how ever I want to. I don't need you to tell me how. I will just send him to bed early."
ME: "It doesn't seem fair that now the rest of the kids will have to clean up his mess, while he relaxes in bed"
DH: "You know what, don't worry, I will deal with MY kids the way I want to."
ME... thinking....Really? WTF! Was that really necessary? Fine! Then don't ask me to cook them dinner, go to their baseball games, clean up their messes, help them with homework, buy them clothes, or do ANYTHING four YOUR kids! ... you can deal with all of that how ever you want to as well!
Like I said, it wasn't a huge fight... probably because I didn't actually say what I was thinking.... but UGH! He is just never going to get it, is he?

He is lucky he married you
He is lucky he married you and not me because I would have told him what I was thinking AND his laundry would never be done again.

Ummm. No way I would allow some guy to talk to me like that while I helped out with HIS kids.
"See Ya!" tata...
On the one occasion when dh
On the one occasion when dh said something sort of similar (it was more "I am trying to handle it", when I butted in), I calmly responded with "I'll let you handle it when you actually HANDLE it. Until then, this is MY home too and and I WILL handle any situation that affects me until you can be affective." I felt bad after because he was making an effort, but it did work. I don't have to step in anymore. He handles most things pretty well, though some times not as quickly as I would.

I guess I'm just not the
I guess I'm just not the type to start a fight first thing in the morning... it ruins my whole day... I plan on taking this up with him after work today, and he knows me well enough that he is no doubt expecting it. But your right, he probably also knows that I won't fight with him in the morning... so he took the opportunity to put me in my place. Grrrrr... when you put it that way, it makes me want to go kick his ass right now! Oh, he'll hear it tonight!
Wow. Well, I would
Wow. Well, I would completely disengage from doing anything from his kids. And next time he wanted to vent to me, I would say, "I don't want to hear it. If you don't want me to respond in any way to your parenting frustrations, then don't tell me about them. I shouldn't have to listen to your anger if you don't want me to react in any way."

Doesn't it beg to ask the question:
Then why the hell did you tell me in the first place?

Disengage! Disengage!
Disengage! Disengage! Disengage! Or hit him between the eyes with the frying pan. What a jerk! Why DID he tell you about it, if doesn't want your help!
I'd stop doing his laundry
I'd stop doing his laundry and if it comes down to you having to pick the clothes up I'd make him earn them back by doing chores. Obviously he isn't naked right now so make him wear what he has on until he can put away what you washed. I'd also only give him stuff back a few items at a time and not what he wants either. But hey when I was a kid their were consequences for bad behavior. I'm sounding old here but now a days kids run rough shod over their parents and their parents take it.
Right... consequences... I
Right... consequences... I wonder if SS has ever heard that word. When I was a kid... early bed time was the least of my worries. I miss the days when a good old fashioned butt whooping was still legal. Lol.
