Okay, so we got the skids early this morning because BM had to work today.........so she said.

FH was on his way home from a job a little before noon and he passes by one of BM's favorite bars. Her car is in the parking lot. FH comes in the door, shoos the skids out of the kitchen where I am doing the dishes, still in my pajamas (lazy day), and he tells me to go "pretty" myself up because we are going to this bar. I ask why and he says because BM is there. I ask "so, what are we gonna do when we get there?" and he says we will just walk in and order a drink, drink it, and then just leave. (We have many mutual friends and since it's New Years Eve and raining here, some of our construction friends will be starting the celebration early and will be in that same bar.)

FH is out in the garage right now waiting for me and fiddling with "garage stuff" and I'm not even sure if I want to go and play this game. It is OUR day with the skids after all and so why should we care that BM told a lie and spends her day in a bar? FH says that it's BS that the skids arrive here still in their pajamas, hair unbrushed, teeth unbrushed, and not fed, just so that she can "rush" to the bar?! I agree with him on that one, but still...............I don't know about this one.

FH says he just wants to make a point to let HER know that WE know she lied.

And another thing, to make her lie even more believable, she was in her nursing scrubs when she dropped the skids off this morning.

Should I go and do this with FH or let him go alone. My 17 y/o daughter is here so she can watch the skids while we are gone. I'm just not sure if I NEED to be there. I think FH can get the point across by himself. I guess he just wants me to go for moral support. I dunno what to do.

I see his point.. its kind of a, gotcha, dont think you can lie to me and I believe it all the time.

I do get why he is doing it. I guess I am not sure why you HAVE to go, unless he is worried about her trying to come on to him.

I say do it!!

I think he wants me to go because, first of all he would NEVER normally go to a bar without me, and also because BM has bad-mouthed me so much from the get-go that he assumes I want/need the satisfaction of calling her out on her lies without even having to open my mouth. I do believe it will give me some satisfaction and hopefully make BM look/feel like an ass. I think I just may go.

I agree with your FH -- definitely go. Sit there, give her a long, long look, drink your drinks, and leave. Then next time she asks you for a favor, tell her no. When she asks why, tell her it's because you know she lies to you.

I agree with you BB and I am definitely gonna go. This opportunity doesn't happen every day and BM loves to play the "perfect hard working mommy" all the time. Also, again, she NEVER has any money and so we use the "too many beers in a bar" on her every time she cries "poor".

Ooh, I have another thought: take pictures or video of her at the bar, and then, next time she wants a favor, you can MMS her phone with pix of her drinking when she was supposed to be working! LOL!
