This is probably a silly question but...
When you were 7-10 years old, did you have to be constantly reminded to go to the bathroom? I, for one, remember that when my bladder told me to go, I went!
The reason why I ask this is because Blabb is 9 years old and will hold her bladder until she goes on herself. Every. single. time. She's ruined many beautiful dresses because of this, which is why I'm still speechless when DH insists on buying her all these dresses when he knows that she's just going to shit all over them. DH also has to buy her panties almost every month... not because she grows out of them... because she pees and poops in them all the time. Now the only way to avoid this is to REMIND her every two-three hours to go potty... or immediately after she plays and gets really excited.
I am so confused by this. Is this normal? I know a handful of 5-6 year olds who are fully capable of going when they need to go. So... like, I dunno. Maybe I was too advanced as a 9 year old that I knew when to go. Maybe... just maybe.
Anyway, I just had to post this because five minutes ago DH just told Blabb to go "potty." Of course, she ignored him and of course, soiled herself. :/ What are your thoughts?

that is not normal at all.
that is not normal at all. It sounds like she get a whole lot of attention by doing this...so if she's being rewarded...why would she stop?

See... apparently she's been
See... apparently she's been to doctors many times and they have ruled out every possible issue.
Not that it matters. Warthog totally disregard everything the doctors tell her.
Doctor: "Blabb is overweight for her age..."
Warthog: "My daughter is PERFECTLY HEALTHY!" -- PS: She feeds Blabb fast food on a daily basis, so I high doubt that Blabb is healthy.
Doctor: "Blabb should probably see a psychiatrist."
Warthog: "My daughter is PERFECTLY NORMAL!"

My son was 9 and would crap
My son was 9 and would crap his pants. man it seemed like it was every day.
I would ask him when he did it, and every time it was when he was playing.
He did not want to stop playing, and thought he could hold it.
I started making him clean his underwear and pants.
He is 10 now and you just reminded me that he stopped doing that...
It makes me ask myself...
Was it a psychological?
Was he going through something in his life?
Did he just outgrow that phase?
Here is what changed.
My situation at the time of him doing this was, I was a single full time dad.
We lived in an apartment, But used to own a home.
He was alone in the mornings to get himself ready for school.
Meaning,
He got himself up, (Had his own alarm clock.)
He took his shower.
Made himself breakfast.
Made his lunch.
Got his school pak organized.
And left for school on time. (He did this for 2 years. and was never late.)
He rode his bike to school.
I worked 2 jobs and sometimes 3 jobs, So my availability for my boys was very little.
I provided a safe loving home but my fathering was at night and I was out of energy.
My boys got the least and worst of me.
As of last May,
I am married.
And his home life is a complete 180 deg.
My wife is home in the mornings with all the boys.
She drives 2 of them to school.
I pic up those 2 boys after work and I am home with them.
I work 1 job now. They are on the basketball team.
We practice, and do homework together.
eat together, Lots of positive changes.
Was it a coincidence?
Maybe...
Maybe not.
Hows your home life secondwife 19?
Are there anything simularities to your situation?
I never could figure out why my son was doing this.
But after you posted this it got me thinking...
I too think it's
I too think it's psychological...not that she's crazy or anything, but something is keeping her mind wondering where she forgets...
and Jon-Boy, I sure hope you are proud of that boy of yours...holly cow! I wish I could do as much as he did at that age...way to go! Sometimes I think dads do an amazing job of raising boys and they don't get the credit they deserve...I know my husband is a great dad w/his son...even if the outfits don't always match...
Oh I did not say he
Oh I did not say he matched.... Lol...:-)

I think stepchicka's link says it all. Take her to your own doctor, don't listen to Warthog.
My nephew is 9 and he has
My nephew is 9 and he has this problem also. My sister landed up taking him to a child psychologist. It's very difficult for my sister and my nephew's teachers.THey think it started because he was afraid to ask the teacher to go to the bathroom.
He got into the habit of holding it so much that he got constipated. Then when he went it hurt, so he continued to hold it. Then he had of fear of going.
Now, from not going at all it went to poop in the pants. He will be playing and be total unaware of it.
My sister has to ask him every 2 hours also. Its gonna better since he has embarrassing situation at school. She still carries extra clothes because if he is distracted he will go.
I think you should really see the doctor, I dont think it really normal for a child to poop on themselves.
