We've had some "issues" with SD and the internet before....oh boy have we. She's been grounded from forums (for good reason) and even EMAIL lately (for good reason). So...school starts. We can't watch her all day. AND GUESS WHAT SHE DOES? (joins NEW FORUMS...4 of them, rejoins old ones, and then.....)

DH FREAKED OUT. But why? She was having PHONE SEX WITH 47 YEAR OLDS A YEAR AGO. But yeah, he is freaked, and isn't really taking to her, yadda yadda.

And SD is acting all INSULTED?! She even said, "Dad isn't going to do this not talking to me THING. I won't let THAT happen."
Then the next day, she said, "I just can't take this. I can't stand that me and dad aren't together anymore."

TOGETHER ANYMORE?! Were they dating?! I told DH this and he looked at me like I had lobsters crawling out of my ears. "Uh, I am not WITH HER. What the F^&* does that even mean?!"

I shrugged and said I didn't know.

He said, "That girl is messed up. And she needs help. And I've gotten her that help. Shrinks, therapists, medications, and I've given her time! Attention. Christ!!! I've loved her more than I can see. But I didn't see her. Not the real HER. I didn't see...did I?"

I shrugged again.

He sighed and said, "Oh well. I've tried. You've tried. We tried, ya know?" (he starts crying) "I love her. I didn't do any good."

I held him a while.

All this came out last Friday. He didn't talk to her until tonight. But what he said when he spoke? WOW. Maybe I'll post about his explosion another night....maybe not. I can't wrap my head around it...even hours later. But it was bad.
His heart just...broke.

And later? After their talk?! She argued about taking a shower. So we asked her not to argue. But then she argued (SERIOUSLY) 5 MORE TIMES. I told her "no reading before bed since you're arguing about being CLEAN." I mean, that's ridiculous! She's 17 on Oct. 20!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked on her 15 mintues after her shower. She was reading.

I asked her, "Why, SD? You've broken your dad's heart and killed our trust. And now this? Doesn't this seem petty?"

She simply shrugged and answered, "I didn't think you'd catch me."

OH..............MY........................G*d in HEAVEN, LADIES.
