Can BM search on Google and find that I blog here?

I am curioius becasue it may very well hurt our court case. Any info would help....thanks!

I never give my real name and I always use an email address that no one knows about except me and where I am using it. That way I can vent all I want and not worry.

When you open an account

When you open an account with ST, it never requires your real name, just your email address, I dont even think it ask you for your name, just the name you want to use

I dont think anyone can trace it to you on google, but do not put anything private on, personal pictures and such.

I didn't know that, has ST ever received a subpoena??? have you heard of anyone?
That is a very uncomfortable feeling, since BM has a revolving door at the courthouse with us.

Unless they think you're committing a crime by posting on StepTalk, I don't think they could get a subpoena for our logs. As long as you're not using real names, they can't say you're committing slander, etc. You would have a good chance of winning a court fight if they tried using anything you post here if you don't use real names.

I was wondering why on ST, everyone was meeting up on Facebook. Not that I dont trust other StepmomsS/StepDad, but that would totally identify yourself. Pretty much we are all strangers to each other, am I being to cynical?

I don't think you're being too cynical at all. I've only added friends on Facebook who really feel like people I can trust. Granted, we can never know for sure, though, so you're right, I think, to be careful before doing something like that.

If you use real names, or nick names that the BM knows about then yes, she can find you here. If you don't use names she would know to search for than no, she can't find you using a search engine.

This site is currently open to the public so any search engine can index this site and all of it's content. The rule of thumb is never use names or nicknames that someone you don't want finding your posts knows about. If you want to keep your StepTalk usage private at your home, make sure nobody sees you on the site and delete your browser history when your done. You can configure your browser to automatically delete your history when you close the browser.

The level of privacy you have here depends entirely on you.
